Mello's Interests

General	I have lots of interests, I guess. Briefly: My favorite sports teams are the Chicago White Sox, Arsenal, Loyola Chicago (basketball) & Northwestern (football). As far as music, see below. I love traveling, some of my favorite places I've been to are Costa Rica, Chile, Mexico & the UK. Despite being a city kid I'm somewhat outdoorsy and go fishing whenever I get the chance. I also like art; I live around the corner from the Museum of Contemporary Art and I'm a regular on "free Thursday night" at the Art Institute. A recent exhibit at the MCA inspired me to start taking pictures of everyday sorts of things, you can see some of them in my "Failed Attempts @ Photography" album in pics
Music	I love music, I'm really into: fidget, bassline, dubstep, electro, b-more, baile, kuduro, (danceable) indie rock, hip hop, breaks, funk, soul, downtempo, broken beat, afro beat, dub, reggae, latin & everything brazilian. Most of my favorite Artists/DJs are now my "friends", check 'em out
Television	Besides sports? Daily Show, Colbert Report, Simpsons, Family Guy & lots of shows that would bore most people to tears: Globe Trekker, Frontline, BBC World News, Foreign Exchange with Daljit Dhaliwal
Books	Not that I have time to read much besides law stuff and The Economist, but I like books on politics, policy, foreign affairs, economics and occasionally sports (I'm a huge dork, you don't have to tell me). The best book I've read lately is A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah; it's a first hand account of being a child soldier in Sierra Leone
