I love the sound of a mellotron. Therefore I´ve set up this page as a tribute to the mellotron. You can hear some of my music here, but it can also be heard on other places at the web. I´m not a professional musician but still like the possibility to reach many mellotron-lovers out there.

The sound of the Mellotron have been around for a while now.
The mellotron, said to be the first sampler, has a very special sound.
Many people love it. Others do not. Most people have no idea what a mellotron is.
In some music you can hear a special sound, that..s coming from a mellotron.
Often you can hear instruments like strings, flute and brass as well as the sound of a choir in recordings. Sometimes that sound comes from a mellotron! How could one know, if it comes from a mellotron? That ain..t allways easy to say. Mellotron-lovers can hear or feel if it is a mellotron.

In "Nice Mellotron" you can hear the typical sound of strings, choir and brass, coming from a mellotron. I love the roughness of the sound.
You should not use the sound from a mellotron if you create music and want to have something that sounds exactly like strings or a choir. In that case there are other samples that suites better. On the other hand, if you want a sound that is magic, you might want to use the sound from a mellotron.
Unfortunately, most people can..t afford to buy a real mellotron.
Luckily, we can use samples from this extraordinary sampler, the mellotron!

Ja hej Max! Förlåt att jag ej hann svara tidigare! Mycket spring i trädgården och jagandes av åskmoln dessa dagar....Jo faktiskt, är man en hattifnatt så är man! Något du nog upptäckt vid det här laget som med "Rain in Mysore" t ex där det ju dundrar på något så infernaliskt!
Det där med trumskivan låter ju helt fantastiskt måste jag säga! Alltså för det priset à 50 kr. Fattar inte hur du gör! Har du kanske varit på prutkurs i Indien någon gång?
Jo för mig skulle WAV filer funka finfint, detta eftersom jag kör med min urgamla Atari dator som sequencer där inga moderniteter alls finnes.
Kanske vi kan köra en Thailändare eller dylikt nästa vecka? Vore kul att ses!

Writing lyrics is something I aspire to hopefully do one day. Currently, however, it is more of something I only do when I am feeling deeply inspired. Though I personally feel the turn out is not so great; I have never gotten second opinions to alter that because, I suppose you could say, I am afraid I might not be as gifted as my optimistic mind led me to first conceive.
Max - thanks for the feedback - I reckon you need to buy a copy of the single to get the full effect! Incidentally, the original track by The Small Faces was an instrumental so the vocals by the Schizos were only added to give a new dimension to the overall sound; if you DO manage to work out the lyrics, you'll notice Ogden's 'departure' gets more than a passing mention!
Tack Max! Det är så jag känner också, även om "Return to Andorra" i första hand inspirerades av att jag såg filmen "Tous les matins de monde" i början av 90-talet, den som handlade om den store viola da gamba mästaren Saint Colombe.
