Ms. Goody has spent her lifetime singing and making music wherever she went.
* Louise Good Haines has been singing since early childhood with her family and at church. Even now, it is said, tender old-fashioned hymns can be heard in her voice.
* At the age of 9, Louise's father (Frank Good) started teaching her the guitar by drawing the guitar strings, frets and finger placement marks on the insides of opened paper grocery bags. It was expected that she practice each day for one full hour after doing school homework. He was pretty strict about diligent practice..
* At the So. Portland, Maine Methodist Church "fund-raiser" show held annually, Louise accompanied herself to "Columbus Stockade Blues" & "Sloop John B" at the age of 10.
In addition to 2 years of performing in the M.A.C. shows there were regular HOOTENANNY gatherings in which Louise had a couple of feature performances.
* 5th grade opened up the world of percussion as the school band offered the option of playing the snare drum. (Mom just LOVED that!)
* While in 6th grade she started picking at the old upright piano in the house. After being shown a few chords by her dad, it was decided piano lessons were in order. That lasted about 2 months when the piano techer declared "Louise hears what she wants to play and resists trying to read the music". That ended lessons although there is still some pickin' on the keys once in a while.
* Family gatherings always included music by everyone whether it be singing, or playing any of the myriad of instruments other family members played. This is where "Goody" was able to develop a lot of her harmony vocals...she just didn't want to sound like everyone else so she tried to create alternate harmonies.
* Moving from New Hampshire to Florida with her parents, brother, a German-shepherd and the cat in 1971...what a trip. The family station wagon, all loaded up with a little U-Haul in tow, was quite a funny sight. That trip was marked by the family singing of "Take Me Home Country Roads" & "The Beverly Hillbillies Theme".
* Entering 9th grade, Goody became involved with goings on at the Gulfport United Methodist Church. At age 15 she was the youngest person to become a member of the adult choir. It wasn't too long before she was doing solo hymns. She also was the youngest appointed Youth Representative to date.
* During the following summer was the Children's Sunday School Summer Camp she volunteered to teach the 5th graders. It was there she realized that singing drew the interest of the kids. That was the start of the Children's Choir. With the help of the minister's daughter, Laurie Jones, who also played guitar, the first song performed was The Lord's Prayer as sung by Sister Janet Mead. (Quite startling for a retirement-age congregation) but...well received non-the-less. Goody & Laurie often accompanied Rev. Jones to local nursing homes on Sundays after church to provide music for the hymns.
* Through some of the church members, Goody was asked to sing and entertain at local group functions from time to time. There were luncheons and dinner-meetings that were held at places such as the Driftwood Banquet Facility in St. Petersburg and in fellowship halls of some Gulfport's churches.
In 1973, the Jefferson County (N.Y.) had it's annual get-together at the Gulfport Casino where she was the musical entertainer of the day.
* During her high school years, Tyrone Mall had sponsored the "TALENTED TEEN CONTEST" Each year in excess of 500 teens auditioned for this event.
As a Sophomore, Goody made it into the top 10 at the 8th position. As a Junior, winning eluded her by 3 positions in the top 10.
* After graduating High School, she married and focused on being a wife and then mother to her two children. During these years she still wrote a few songs, became a cake decorator & eventually had her own specialty cake shop.
* Now with children grown and a wonderful grandson to be proud of, Ms.Goody is making the rounds at Gulfport, St. Petersburg & other Tampa Bay "Open Mic" nites and some beach pubs in addition to Irish Music Sessions. She has written some original music over the last several years and is enjoying her music and her life.
* Keep Tuned for another edition of her Internet Radio Show & Website called "MELLOW MELODIES With GOODY". You can find it at www.mellowmelodies.com
* Goody is doing studio time, folks... there will be a new Cd full of original songs soon to be released!

Goody thanks for all you do......the Coreopsis was adopted as Florida's official state wildflower. Nothing conveys the image of the Sunshine State better than a golden spray of Coreopsis spread across the landscape. You sing and play like a roadside full of them.
Cash, I Love Your Cash, you do Cash Richly......Hope all is well with you and Mike.....tell him we need to go fish-in'... thanks for all you do............
Pineless County
Pinellas County Isn't piney anymore they sawed all the flat woods made rich mans doors
US 19 dont run one lane south and north Pinellas County isn't piney anymore
They took my hometown away while I was liv-in' here ev'ry day they raised my taxes I don't know why sent a letter tell-in' me my grass is to high
But it's not grass, no my grass all died the poisons kill us so I let it get fried now it's just weeds but it's the way it's sposed to be before they paved the county and cut down the trees
It's just weeds and I barely tried my neighbor hates me and I don't know why and now they say cut or pay a fine it's enough to make you cry
Then they took the beach away I used to fish and swim there ev'ryday they built so many condos try to find a legal place to park when it comes to sunsets we've been left in the dark
The lights are bright and the shorelines slim the loggerheads future is look-in' dim to see what's yours and mine your gonna have to pay we went and let 'em take the beach away
There run-in' this great state into the ground just look around you can hear the sound of engines tear'in up what left of your town if it don't make you mad well your just a clown
Hear 'em tout-in' nuclear powers the way to go but I can feel the sun and the wind that blows the poison dust on the streets of your town they're run-in' this great state into the ground
