Welcome to the wonderful musical worlds of MELLOW.
Since its inception in 1991, MELLOW has quickly grown to be recognized as one of the world leaders in bringing progressive rock music and more to the marketplace in the form of LPs, CDs and concerts.
But let's put things in perspective. Before there was MELLOW, many musical artists of considerable merit had been lost in 1980's, victims of the ever-tighter demands of ever-larger record companies determinated only to sell zillions and zillions of products.
The empty-vision of music videos only made matters worse for the musicians who made music because it was their life, not because some record company insisted that it was time for another release.
We feel that focusing on these overlooked musicians provides the listeners with a clearer insight into the creative process, unfettered by the constraints and demands of the commercial world. Not that we are opposed to commerciality, certainly not. We'd love for all our artists to finally receive the credit and acclaim they all so richly deserve.
Some people have come to think of MELLOW as a reissue label; others think of it as a label for new promising new-progressive bands from all over the world; still others have come to recognise it as a vehicle for people who once played with progressive legends.The truth is, that none of these labels is correct.
MELLOW transcends these and other labels.
We think that MELLOW has established three distinct areas of focus:
New releases by long-established, but still obscure in terms of general acceptance artists of considerable merit.
Re-issues of overlooked classics, ofter enriched with extra tracks and extra artworks
Releases by artists who may not be well-known, but whose music is compatible with the spirit and quality of other MELLOW artists and releases.
In all these areas, MELLOW is committed to providing a wide array of distinctive, out of-the-ordinary, much-in-demand music to our ever-expanding global audience.
Looking ahead, over forty more releases are already scheduled, with a longer catalogue developing constantly.
