New Guide: Beware of the internet hateorade: STL dude loses job after comment http://lnk.ms/4XKxdPosted at 4:15 PM Nov 21 from Ping.fm view more
My name is Melody, and I am a blog-o-holic. I blog, work, and play in St. Louis, Missouri, where I live with my dog, Sasha, and my husband. We do not raise farm animals, nor do we know how to flash gang signs. We are a typical twenty-something couple: working, playing, and trying to figure out why pizza has gotten so expensive.
I enjoy long walks on concrete sidewalks, dinner under pendant lamps of colored glass, and a nice Barossa Valley Shiraz. I have two bachelor’s degrees, one in English Literature and one in Education, and I am not afraid to use them. As such, I am an avid reader and I love to talk to people - hence the whole blogging and writing thing.
I grew up in a far-flung suburb of St. Louis listening to David Bowie (I will bet you a dollar I am the biggest fan evah!) and grunge rock. I died my hair blue and wore flannel for a stint in high school, and left soccer practice to shop at the Gap during another. Such were the ’90’s. During college I was a DJ because I am the only one in my family with ZERO musical talent and I couldn’t be in a band. Instead, I got paid to play CD’s made by people far more talented than I, and worked on my college paper as the Entertainment Editor interviewing said people.
I would like to meet Stephanie Meyer and Rob Pattinson as Edward Cullen. If that were to happen I would steal all of Stephanie Meyer's manuscripts, hypnotize her to think that she is me and I am her, and then I would run away with Edward Cullen ... even though he is like eleven years younger than I am and that's kind of creepy (oh yeah, and impossible since he is a fictional character). I would, however, definitely take Rob Pattinson in his place. Obviously I am a Twilight fan, an aspiring novel writer, and have a completely deluded view of men because of both.
I would also like to meet Hunter S. Thompson during his Rolling Stone-Gonzo journalist hayday. I probably wouldn't hypnotize him, but I would probably insist on being his designated driver.
