A live interview on Meltingpod from a legendary French band : Trust formed in 77 by Bernie the singer and Nono the guitarist. They played at Marseille last month and Nono accepted an interview with me in English : funny challenge for us to speak both in a foreign language for the listeners and the fans around the world !! I hope you will appreciate it !
Excerpts of their new album "13 at the table" and old songs to illustrate the interview. Enjoy !

About me:
The first woman who started a podcast in France in March 2005 (that's why you will find : "The first French Woman..." everywhere on Google.com with Meltingpod, it was a joke between the first male podcasters in the world and me when podcasting was still in its infancy and it's now stuck to me on the internet !! I will let you appreciate if i'm really "the Queen of the Rock'n'roll podcasters" now !!). So I launched MY ROCK AND ROLL PODCAST MELTINGPOD (in English) with music and interviews to promote the bands I like around the world and a few months later in December 2005 I started MY FRENCH PODCAST MELTINGTALKS (sometimes in English) with interviews about society, cultur, politics, women, European projects to collect the voices and point of views of interesting humans in
December 22th Mick Cocks has gone...it's hard to accept it specially when everybody seems so happy with the festive season... he was one of my favorite Aussie rockers and I don't have a lot of favorite... it's hard to smile when the heart is down...but
believe it or not I know he is still around, closer than we can imagine,
free, laughing and joking asking us to keep the nose high...:)
and to say MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL !!
Chris started with playing me a song on the phone for my MELTINGPOD N°100 then we spoke about all his projects for 2010 alone or with The Saints or who knows maybe with his long time partner...Ed Kuepper ?
Enjoy this part 1 !!!
November 12th MELTINGPOD N°99 FROM BERLIN IN 1989 TO CAMBODIA IN 2009 !! LIVE INTERVIEWS AND MUSIC !!
A punk 20th anniversary with a few sound postcards from "my Berlin" with friends musicians or giving interviews about the fall of the wall in 1989 and about the awekening from Cambodia in 2009 ...when History invites itself in a rock podcast !!
After meeting a first time Texas in Marseille for a show during her European tour 2008, I met her a second time in Berlin this year and we recorded that interview quietly at Tiki Heart a nice bar next door to Wild at Heart (my favorite punk rock club in Berlin) : a cool conversation with her, sincere, honest, funny and direct about her long musical carreer from Austin (Texas) to Los Angeles and now in Berlin...be ready for a 50mn punk rock and roll show without compromise !!
A Live interview with one of my favorite French musicians, Rodolphe Burger
who gave a show in Marseille last week. We spoke about his current project
Mix Up Beyrouth with young Lebanese musicians (clip video from the show below)
...and then about his ex-band Kat Onoma I liked a lot ! I played a lot of songs from that band to illustrate the interview (as well as some live recordings during the Mix Up Beyrouth's soundcheck and show) and we spoke about his solo carrier, his own studio recording in the country, his own label and his own festival (In short, to be happy : Do It Yourself !!) and his current tour with a new trio !
A 50mn long show with Jeffrey Wegener : about his first meeting with Ed Kuepper and Chris Bailey at school, his first show with Kid Galahad and the Eternals aka The Saints, how he met Ed just back from London to form the Laughing Clowns; a lot of songs'excerpts to illustrate his talk about the music.
We closed with some of his memories with the Birthday Party and this nice meeting at ATP
in Australia January 2009 where all those bands reunited the same day !!
Yes I did the travel to Dresden Germany (close to the Czech Republic) to see
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds with Ed Kuepper at the guitar
during their European tour 2009 : what a fun ! No doubt they are a great band !
Read the report on Meltingpod with more pics and two short videos clips
to give you an idea of the ambiance on stage !
Get ready for Love !!!
Dany Cohn Bendit in Paris May 68 !! in Marseille June 2009 after our interview !
I didn't resist to take a pic with this special "rock star"...:)
Daniel Cohn Bendit was the Students Revolution's most famous leader in May 68 but now he is involved in politics as European deputy successively for Germany and France; in this podcast no political talk, just some reasons to go to vote...or not June 7th for the European Parliament
with 3 guests giving different point of views !
It's your choice !!
After the New Christs' show in Marseille we spoke with Rob Younger about their current European tour, their ex-label Citadel where Rob was the producer, Radio Birman, the New Christs' current line-up, the song writing process, the Saints's last show at ATP, the girls in Marseille...:) Illustrated with Live songs' excerpts : Enjoy !!
Ed Kuepper answered to my questions after having reformed the Laughing Clowns for ATP and a last show at GoMA in Brisbane last January : we spoke about the Clowns reunion shows , the writing songs process and his projects for the future ! A lot of songs to illustrate Ed's talk and some surprises like Jeffrey Wegener and the King of Disco's short appearances and ETERNALLY YOURS LIVE at GoMA specially sent by Ed for Meltingpod !! Enjoy !!
For that special event I chose to publish a video I filmed in Marseille last year with Irishmen who revealed during a funny party all their secret rituals...check it quick !!!...:)
BTW : MELTINGPOD THE PODCAST was launched March 8th so I will try to prepare a special recording for this 4th anniversary too...stay connected !
If you wonder why there are so much Australian rock podcasts on Meltingpod right now... I have never been to Australia so far but I opened my very first show in 2005 with A SONG CALLED "MARSEILLE" written by THE ANGELS in Sydney's harbour 30 years ago...after having given me their agreement to play that song in my podcast, John Brewster (the Angels' guitarist and current singer) e-mailed me the story about the song's lyrics "Take my blues away, take me away to Marseille" :
"One day I was driving my purple Renault down by the docks where some ships were tied up to the wharves, the band was in hard times (we hadn’t achieved success at this point) and I just felt in a mood to escape it all. For some reason my French lessons came back to my mind and I thought of Marseille. The band played in Nice but so far I have never been to Marseille. Best regards, John"
Then a few days later THE SAINTS knocked at my door... (the venue where they played at Marseille and where I met them was situated a few hundred meters from my home !)...I made with CHRIS BAILEY my very first live interview in English (I tried !) and such connections increased...then I met his partner who founded the Saints with him : ED KUEPPER through myspace, then LIVE : YEAH !! Check all my podcasts with ED about the early Saints, THE LAUGHING CLOWNS and his prolific solo carrier until now on MELTINGPOD ! (make a search through the categories section on the blog's right column : I still can't give the direct links from that page, sorry)
Devant ma nuque from NONSTOP !! videoclip from Henri-Jean Debon
Who I'd like to meet: the nice people around the world who cross my way here or there...all my faithful listeners and the cool musicians who support me all these years...
Hey Annie, do you know that Alice Cooper was my first idol? Or nearly "god", and that "Billion Dollar Babies" was the first record of my recordcollection (I had some others before but my little brothers destroyed them)
