Melt Wreckage is a mechanical deviant who crash-landed on Earth after escaping the totalitarian rule of the Amphibian overlords on Pluto. It crawled from a shredded and charred pile of metallic remains, tore off its clothes, and slithered into the Norwegian gutter. Since then, Melt Wreckage has partaken in numerous homegrown musical endeavors.
Melt Wreckage began recording his own simple compositions on audio cassette and 8mm film in the late 80s, but eventually upgraded to personal computer in the mid-90s. Since then, he has continued writing/recording/performing - albeit with varying frequency. In the early part of the current decade, Melt enjoyed a fruitful union with the experimental "glam rap" quintet Four Monkeys and a Shepherd, under which he adopted the moniker Monkey 2.
Following a four-year hiatus, Melt Wreckage decided to form a new musical project, and completed work on a solo-album called "TUNDRAGE" in late 2007. Melt began work on a follow-up EP in March of 2008. The EP, called "Inorganic Sludge", was completed in May of 2008, and fuses elements of dark electro, industrial, and 80s synth pop.
He draws influence and inspiration from a variety of disparate sources - 80s synth pop, early-90s rap, heavy metal, industrial, late-80s/early-90s video game music, funk, and 70s/80s punk. His equipment is limited to a single electric guitar, synth and percussive software, and his sporadic vocalizations. Occasionally, he records the slapping of his bare chest and stomach for additional percussion.
Melt Wreckage has decided to make his songs available for download, free of charge - he would be delighted if you enjoyed his output, and invites you to savor his heinous filth, preferably with ales and wines in grasp - naked, euphoric, and wallowing in inebriated debauchery. May Melt Wreckage provide the soundtrack for your upcoming flights into bizarre, colorful, and slime-soaked hedonism...
