NEW CITY CHICAGO wrote:
"“Cows and football. That's what usually comes to mind at the
mention of Columbus, Ohio. But the largest city in Ohio has
also become home to an insular indie scene whose inventive-
ness has been hidden by geographical isolation. At the
forefront of that scene sits Melty Melty, a band that mixes
electronic blips with laidback guitar lines (a la Pinback) and
"found sound," various sound bites including radio addresses
and vocoded weather forecasts (a la Bound Stems). Singer
Sean Gardner's clarion enunciation of desperate lyrics
pierces the background, turning each song into a tender
ballad that has less to do with healing broken relationships
and more with ruminating on desolate landscapes. This is
contemplative Midwestern shoegaze.”
melty melty write pop songs infused with oscillating guitars, analog synths, samples, and vibraphones. the vocals are crisp and sincere. the melodies as hook riddled as can be. they tour as often as life permits and are currently finishing work on their first record.

Hello Sean, Kevin, and Antonio! Thanks for coming down and playing two amazing shows this past weekend! Got to say I really enjoyed the 'unplugged' set at Taylor Books Cafe. The Empty Glass set was also incredible, but the surprise element of hearing your songs in a quiet presentation was really cool! Any chance you would be interested in coming back down to play as a band again in October??? I've already booked October 17th, the day before my birthday! What do you think??? Let me know...Take care guys!
the time has come, please help me get the word out
