Who I'd like to meet: Melyssa brings an interesting perspective to issues of race, sex and the entertainment industry. Originally from Toronto, her background is a mix of West Indian, Norwegian and Russian. This exotic look landed her on numerous national magazine covers and top-selling calendars. She has appeared six times on the cover of Black Men’s magazine and writes a monthly sex and relationship column in Smooth magazine.
While still modeling, much of her focus is turning to acting. She had a recurring role on Showtime’s hit series “Soul Food” (as Hoochie Mama) and the UPN series “Platinum”. During her interview, she confided her burning desire to earn a role on a long-running police drama. BET liked her so much they created a show for Melyssa to host called BET Style.
She is developing a TV show based on fitness and is working on a book based on her experiences to educate young women trying to follow her footsteps into the business. It takes a book to cover all the facets of this gorgeous, intelligent lady…
