.. Mixing several influences and musical styles, Memories of a dead Man is delivering a heavy and hypnotic music. Relaying on the turbulences and emotions of a human being, the group delivers a condensed form of its intimate feelings using an intensely communicative energy. Out of these forceful and energetic sounds, two particularity mesmerising voices emerge..
Formed near the end of 2006, the quintet orients its music towards an ambient and melodic post-rock that fixes itself in the memory and explodes live on stage. The brutal energy emerging from it is captured and recorded on a 3 title introductory CD published by the Sainte Marthe Studio, Paris, in 2007.
Following that, the group shares appearances with Devil sold his soul , Sonic Syndicate , the A.r.r.s , Zuul Fx, Unswabbed, 'Fi(sh)er, My severed pieces, , Hangman's Chair, Burning Skies, Saul Williams ,Tanen ...appearing on collections and passes several times on French ,belgium and Canadian radio stations.
An eponymous 5 titles EP is finally realized and published by the same Sainte Marthe studio (recorded, mixed by Francis Caste: .aqme ,Zuul FX, the arrs , Sna Fu, Ed-Äke, Unswabbed, Lazy, ...). Its publication, scheduled for January 2008 will thrill all due to its walls of forceful and huge sounds, its waves of intense chants, its aerial drums...
The group, based on the experience of its members, was able to present a solid image during the only 2 years of its existence and its almost 100 concert appearances in France; playing to the doubts of a human being and his divers vibrations.
The power of the combination is revealed during the group's intense live presentation, which is imprinted in the spectator's memory. Never trying to provoke; on the contrary it tries to agitate and awake within the spectator and listener's soul particular emotions...
After the tour following the release of the EP, the band decided to split up with David.
The composition of the album started and Damien (ex SIN) joined the band a few months before recording. The album was recorded on February and March 2009 by Guillaume Mauduit in Penny Lane and Sainte Marthe Studios. After having been signed by Parallel Music and Season of Mist (for distribution), "Beyond the Legend" was released in Europe on the 11th of May 2009.
