Memory Garden was formed in 1992 in Kumla, Sweden by vocalist Stefan Berglund. Soon he was joined by guitar player Anders Looström, Tom Björn (Memento Mori / Nightingale) on drums and Ken Johansson on bass. They began their carrier with some demo and EP releases which gained the interest of the small Swedish underground label Heathendoom Music. In 1995 they release the legendary mini cd 'Forever' with beautiful artwork of Kristian Wåhlin (Emperor, Dissection, Tiamat ect ect). The mini was recorded at Studio Fredman. The album was rather quick a cult hit in the underground. Soon after that, Memory Garden recorded their debut full length album 'Tides', again recorded in Studio Fredman and again produced by Fredrik Nordström. This classic doom album led into a deal with Metal Blade Records. Memory Garden released two albums on this American label, 'Verdict of Posterity' and 'Mirage'. Both albums were very successful and Memory Garden played many gigs and festivals, among which the well known Wacken Open Air in Northern Germany.
Memory Garden recorded their brand new album 'Carnage Carnival' last year. The album is produced by Simon Johansson & Tom Björn and co-produced by Mike Wead and contains 10 tracks of pure Scandinavian doom metal with classic doom vocals by Stefan Berglund, very melodic and at the same time dark and gloomy lead guitars by Simon Johansson (Fifth Reason, Abstrakt Algebra, Steel Attack). The new album will be released by Vic Records who also will re-issue the classic Memory Garden albums 'Tides' and 'Forever'. Both re-mastered by Mike Wead (Mercyful Fate / King Diamond), originally recorded at Studio Fredman, Gothenburg, Sweden, and of course............with tons of bonus tracks and liner notes.
Editor Owe Lingvall (Nocturnal Rites drummer and creator of videos for Wolf, Steel Attack, Nocturnal Rites amongst others) made the astonishing video clip for the first track of the album, titled 'Carnage Carnival' too.
The first pressing of the new album 'Carnage Carnival' comes with a bonus DVD. The DVD contains several live recordings, behind the scenes, studio reports, the video clip for the song Carnage Carnival and the making of that video.

I am completely devastated by this absolute tragedy, the METAL/Music community has lost yet another alltime great! Even though I didn't know MIDNIGHT (real name: John Patrick McDonald Jr.) personally... his voice and music has touched my soul and brought me through many a dark time in my own life! He will be missed dearly, and never be forgotten! MIDNIGHT will forever live on in all of our hearts and minds through his amazing voice! May his soul R.I.P.!
