Paige played volleyball and in her middle school years played basketball and ran track. Growing up she was involved in gymnastics, cheerleading, T-ball, soccer, you name it she did it. This next part came from one of Paige's My Spaces: "I love playing volleyball, basketball and running track. i also like hanging out wtih my friends and going out to eat for no reason just getting all of us together to have fun. music, i love to watch sports and play them, food! ,hmmm ssee food, fries & pizza!!!, i love exotic foods,long walks on the beach, starbucks, cold stone ice cream, hott football players, hott soccer players!! hopefully go sky diving someday too, shopping! This site was created in memory of my daughter Paige Marie DeSarro. Paige had just finished her Junior year in Beaver Local High School and was starting her Summer before her "BIG" Senior year. On June 17, 2007 Paige was out boating with some friends and she had a seizure that we believe was caused from a medication that she was taking called Topomax. It is an anti seizure medicine that they use for migraines. She was taking it for migraines that she was having. Paige was born with an Arachnoid Cyst on her brain that took up 40% of her skull. We found it when she was in 4th grade because she was having headaches. Other than the headaches she was a perfectly normal little girl. When she had the seizure it caused the cyst to burst. Due to the size of the cyst it left a huge empty space and her brain started to swell which caused strokes. She went in for a second surgery on June 23rd and it only made the situation worse and we had to make the decision whether to leave her on life support or disconnect. Paige wouldn't have ever woke up again or been able to communicate with us. Not what she would have wanted. So we made the hardest decision of our lives to disconnect. She was 17.
