Men in the Mountain is the union of two unusual and different heads.
One hails from Toronto and the other from Buenos Aires. The two meet in
Barcelona and for several years, they try to put together something despite
knocks and let downs. They initiate projects, some of which never finish.
They come together and then scatter. They discuss and deform. They move
away from one another, grow weary and decide to communicate at a distance.
They prepare some new material, one in The Pyrenees and the other in the
mountain range of The Andes, far from cities, far from people and far from
one another.
Finally, they bring together their works and publish an EP in order to test
their formula of song development. Using only guitars and their laptops,
they seek a definite sound and identity, utilizing technology and isolation
as axes of their disorganized and loose structure. They worship “do it
yourself,” the urgent, and all things out of focus. Instead of LO-FI,
perhaps, they are LO-IT. MitM is a bipolar brainchild and acts as a healing
experiment for its authors. Without makeup, without poses and without
dogmas.
