I'm Christina, 24 years old. I was raised in a little Northern German town ten minutes away from Hamburg. I started American studies, English philology and German language and literature studies at the university in Frankfurt am Main in the fall of 2006. In the spring of 2007 I moved back to Hamburg where I found a quiet and peaceful apartment near the river. I still do American studies with Spanish as a minor at the local university. Philology is what I want to do professionally as I've always been fascinated with languages in all its shapes. I've always analyzed words and their origin and the sounds of different languages. Learning Latin at school had set the ground for my interest in mostly Romanic and Germanic languages.
My main focus of study therefore lies in linguistics.
Jobwise I would like to stay open. I truly enjoy translation work but I'm very interested in simultaneous interpreting, as well. I can also picture myself teaching languages in the United States.
The greatest passion in my life is music. I've gotten lost in it ever since I was a little girl.
I've had a very strong passion for Deborah Harry as a person (who is the most gorgeous woman with the loveliest voice alive and ever) and her work since January 1999. Seeing her live and in person is what keeps me breathing and what really makes me happy in my life. I do anything I can to never miss an opportunity to see her, no matter how far or for how long. Even a fragment of a second is worth travelling the whole world. She truly is the source of my inspiration and I love her as a person so much more than words could ever express.
I usually get along with everyone. But when I'm faced with unrestricted egotism, constant unreliability, dishonesty and most of all phoniness I can become quite intolerant. I try to stay away from dramas if I can (which isn't always easy).
Travelling is like air to breathe for me. New York City is my favorite place in the world and I love to go there as often as possible. It's the most amazing place with people who couldn't be more different, a basin for dreamers and probably one of the most tolerant cities in the world. Every time I go there it feels like home right away and returning to Germany feels like going to a foreign and cold country.
I can totally picture myself living in New York one day.
What else?
I'm single (no, not searching).
I'm extremely shy (which doesn't mean I don't like to communicate).
I like to spend time on my own and be creative, listening to music, reading a book or just dream. I dream all the time.
I love nature and to spend my time taking long walks by the water or go horse back riding (which I don't do so much these days anymore). It helps me to get my thoughts straight.
I love reading and writing a lot. I feel that I can express myself so much better in written form. Nevertheless I really love long conversations, as well.
I have a weird sense of humor which doesn't always surface right away.
I'm hypersensitive in probably every respect.
I pay a lot of attention to colors and shapes.
I can be overly pedantic.
I can't stand constant negativity. I'm allergic to it.
I can't relate to people who are in the habit of constantly stressing what they dislike instead of what they do like (seriously, it's so unnecessary).
I detest competitions in all forms.
I'm usually *very* loyal.
I can't stand prejudgment. I like people to form their own opinion.
Communication is very important to me.
I'd love to have more openness, less jealousy and more selflessness in this world.
I'm my own worst critic.
I'm outstanding at making a fool of myself.
I make my decisions very carefully. Yet they're not always right. I prefer them to be discussed rather than being judged on account of a possibly wrong decision.
I occasionally use the word "I" too often.
Deborah Harry again (and again and again...). She's truly the most special, amazing, adorable, beautiful and sweetest being I and this planet have ever seen. Other Deborah and Blondie fans.
And what about Hercule Poirot? ;)
Christina! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your hard work on the website! You are truly appreciated by all Debbie Harry and Blondie fans around the world! All the best to you in 2010. Many Debbie wishes to you, hehe! xx
How are you? Excited? Thanks for having "We Three Kings" lyrics on your site!! It really helps the non-native English speakers, like myself! I can't stop listening to it...

Well, right now i'm just in thoughts about what i want to do. One option would be to apply to the Police Service and after two or three years apply to become a Crime Scene Officer, or perhaps work in the Police labs. That's about as close as i am to making a decision!
How about you? Any idea what you're doing after uni, or are you going with the tide? :)
good morning christina, box on its way to you, at last!!!!!! posted tuesday morning. we have a postal strike here at the end of week so i hope it got away ok. please let me know if dvds play for you. there's more stuff to send you, just got to get in a routine again. part of me is still in coney island. ha!ha!ha! take care. best wishes as allways. john.
My lectures in College were around one and a half to two hours long. The ones at uni are either one or two hours. And yeah, the pressure is too much. I wanted to leave college last year as i had no interest, but my lecturer convinced me to stay. So now i'm stuck in the same position but wasted the past year and a half of my time and money! So i'm standing up for myself this time.
I like the diversity of languages too, but could never have the patience to learn more than one. That takes a lot of knowledge, and remembering not to mix them... As i would probably do lol. Russian sounds interesting, as does Arabic. Maybe you could take night classes at a different college or university when you have time available? Good luck with the languages!
Yeah, thanks. I know what you mean about the business side of things! They don't take into account individuals. For example, i learn by doing things and understanding... Not sitting in a lecture hall with 300 other people listening to someone talk about atoms for 2 hours straight!! I've just realised it's not for me, hopefully i haven't let any of my family down. I think they just want me to be happy. What other languages can you speak? Or would like to speak? I know you can speak German (obviously), English, Portuguese and Spanish. You're amazing at languages! Seriously. The best i can do is a few sentences in German :) Thanks for the vote of confidence. I have a meeting with a careers advisor tomorrow morning, so hopefully that will point me in the right direction and help me decide on my future a little. It's all too pressured now to get into education and then full-time work, and to be able to know exactly what you want from a young age.
Sorry for my late reply. Myspace didn't tell me i had any comments so i haven't noticed until now!
Thanks for the luck, but i think i'll be leaving soon. I'm taking Chemistry & Forensics at the moment, but i hate it so much! :( I really have lost all interest in Science. Thanks for the advice aswell.
How is your uni going? And what courses do you study?
hi christina, 1,000 appologies for not sending dvds to you, they will be in post this week. PROMISE . just don't seem to have had a minute since i got back from states. watch your post!!!! catch you soon. john.
Hi Christina! It sounds like you might be a little out of sorts. Are you OK? I miss chatting with you! Take care of yourself, Christina, and hopefully we'll chat soon!
Hey Christina, How are you? We might be safe and sound at home, but surely felt the danger in the desert! Making that U-turn on the highway, was the hardest part.... But everything went fine, a sign indicating good spirits' electromagnetic implication! Photo-wise, hardly any in-doors one was really taken. The open-air ones are about to be uploaded, when time permits. I loved the drive through the cactus-land and the swim in the Indian territory, in Aphrodite's field of vision! Oasis...
greetings christina, back in uk now. allways a pleasure meeting you. no didn't go to a pub at 3.30 in morning!!! ha!ha!ha! i left my poster from morristown on the train home agHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH it cost me $100 and was the only one made. will send you all photos and dvds when made. catch you soon. best wishes. john.
Thank you for the comment it was a great night. the next time Debbie tours; I'm going to do what you do and go to all the shows. i just don't know how the travel from show to show would work out.
Hi, Christina! Happy birthday! It sounds like you're having a lot of fun on the Blondie tour. What a wonderful way to spend your birthday! However you spend your special day, Christina, I hope it is the very best! You are such a sweetheart and, again, best wishes to you on your birthday and many, many more to come!
Happy Birthday Christina! I hope you have a wonderful day :D
Take care, Amy x
P.s; I realise that the time difference could mean that your birthday is either tomorrow, or nearly over! I'm rubbish with time & geography :) Anyway, Happy Birthday!
Hi, Christina! I'm so glad you had fun at the Blondie concert! I hope everything is going very well for you. I hope to talk to you soon and I miss you! Love always, Wine&Roses.
