Mental Vortex was created in May 2008 by Jean-François Grégoire (Grett Sotto, ex-Synaptic Orchestra, ex-Spleen, ex-Dragdown, ...) at the guitar and Olivier Lespagnard (ex-Spleen, ex-Dragdown, ...) at the drums.
When they had about ten pieces, they began to look after a bass player, a second guitar player and a singer.
A few singers have been auditioned, but none integrated the band more then a few weeks.
Mental Vortex recorded the drums and guitar of four songs in the Mammouth Production recording studio in May 16th 2009.
About a week after, they founded a second guitar player.
In June, Philippe Worontzoff (AKA Gloom) (Mactabis, ex-Dark Ages, ex-Clouds of Sadness, ex-Black Swords, ...) integrated the band as a singer.
Things didn't went well with two guitars and the second guitar player didn't stayed in Mental Vortex. The band then decided to continue just with one guitar, that is far enough for their music.
In July, Antoine Paterka (Pestifer, V3, Carrefour Bongo's, ex-Hydra, ex-Ali(e)n, ex-Dragdown, ...) completed the line-up by becoming their bass player.
The four song recorded has been completed by Antoine and Philippe at October 9th (with a few modifications made to the vocals at October 13th), still in the Mammouth Production recording studio.
The first Mental Vortex gig has been very well welcome by the audience then present. Other gigs will follow in 2010.
Their first recording entitled "Dodged Existence's Development" is in pre-listening in there website and here since November 3rd 2009. The CD-R version will soon be available.

Les choses ne se passaient pas bien avec deux guitares et le second guitariste n'est pas resté dans Mental Vortex. Le groupe décida alors de continuer simplement avec une guitare, ce qui est largement assez pour leur musique.
En juillet, Antoine Paterka (Pestifer, V3, Carrefour Bongo's, ex-Hydra, ex-Ali(e)n, ex-Dragdown, ...) compléta la formation en devenant leur bassiste.
Les quatre chansons enregistrées ont été complétées par Antoine et Philippe le 9 octobre (avec quelques modifications apportées au chant le 13 octobre), toujours au studio d'enregistrement Mammouth Production.
Le premier concert de Mental Vortex a très bien été accueilli par le public alors présent. D'autres concerts suivront en 2010.
Leur premier enregistrement intitulé « Dodged Existence's Development » est en pré-écoute sur leur site internet et ici depuis le 3 novembre 2009. La version CD-R sera bientôt disponible.

ola, vraiment cool son et cool morceaux. Nous avons nous aussi enregistré chez mammouth et venons aussi de mettre nos morceaux sur notre page. Ce serait cool d'avoir votre avis sur ceux-ci. A un de ces 4 peut être.

Tellement précipitament que tu m'as même pas dit au revoir , vilain !!! (... oui, j'aime bien te taquiner :D) Mais chouette concert, effectivement. Ambiance très sympathique. Caligula m'a fait rire. Musicalement, j'ai préféré le dernier groupe, Nirnaeth.
