Interests

  • General

    I love hanging out with friends and having fun together, but I am the kind of person you will also see going to a restaurant, a cafe or shopping by herself. Major interests are taking vacations and exploring new cities, going to the movies, going out to eat or doing whatever is fun. I like weightlifting, I like doing cardio for the results and how it makes me feel after. But I do not like to do cardio without my iPod lol. I'm very much into fitness (figure to be specific), modeling (I like doing photoshoots) and competing. I love surprises and a major keyword for me is having fun!



  • Music

    I love different kinds of music. From Sade (No Ordinary Love is still my favourite song), Enigma, Spiritual music mixed with asian tones to classics like David Bowie, Chris Isaac, Duran Duran, Brian Adams and Madonna to Muse, Korn (their softer versions) and Metallica to deep house and progressive house like Carl Cox, Deep Dish, Satoshi Tomiie and James Holden for parties or working out. What I listen to depends on my mood.



  • Movies

    I love watching all kinds of movies, at home or in the movie theater. I don't really like movies about war, excessive drugs and violence etc. Lately I am going to the movies much more often than I used to and I watch dvd's more too. But that can be because I am preparing for my contest now, which leaves me tired after my workouts and from dieting. So I choose to relax and stay home more often now.

    Now reading: 'East Of The Sun' by Julia Gregson.


    'East Of The Sun is the second novel by Julia Gregson is a great summer read for the and has a well deserved place on the Richard and Judy Book Club Summer Read 2008.

    Set in Autum 1928, this epic is the tale of three ladies travelling to India. Viva Holloway is the unlikely chaperone, who starts to think she has made a mistake travelling to India, the place she was born and where she lost her parents. Alongside Viva is Rose, a very beautiful and innocent English rose who is set to marry a cavalry officer, who she has been acquainted with just a handful of times. Then there is her bridesmaid Victoria who is focussed on finding a husband of her own.

    Eager to reach India after leaving their homeland, these ladies are unprepared for what lies ahead for them in India as they experience high society life in Bombay and are torn apart by the ragged orphans on Tamarind Street.'

I compete for the love of it. Born and raised in Amsterdam (yes I know, Sin city) with both parents being Persian, I have traveled frequently to Miami where I trained for my competitions, traveled for fun, modeled as my hobby and just had lots of fun. I am realistic but not down to earth. I follow my dreams and live by the heart. You could even say I live in my own world. I try to make life as wonderful as possible, everything is possible, nothing is too far reached and I keep an open mind for the unknown. Time, distance nor traditional belief of "what you are supposed to do" hold barriers for me and life has been like a rollercoaster of fun and succes this way. I started competing two years ago and things are going very well very fast, I love the challenge and it feels great to work hard and get rewarded, not only by winning the competitions but also simply by feeling fit and by looking in the mirror and being happy with myself and motivating others to live life to the fullest.
