InfluencesMercuroChrome spans three generations of musicians and because of that we all have a wide variety of musical influence. Dave, the band's patriarch, spent his youth digging on the power-pop of Mitch Easter, and today still loves a good power-pop show (only missing the Sparklefest once...this year). Duke grew up loving Ace Frehley's guitar playing (he's almost embarrassed about this fact...almost...) and a little KISS ends up peaking its head out in MercuroChrome's rocking rhythms. Laura, who just picked up the bass to play for MercuroChrome, has played banjo for a while now, and comes with her ears tuned by the likes of Gillian Welch and Lucinda Williams. Brian spent his late teens trying to be Bob Pollard (by following him around, nonetheless) and hurt his liver many times in the process. These influences take on a new life in MercuroChrome...Duke tightens the screws while Brian loosens them, and Laura and Dave lock into a tight groove that just won't fail. Look for Laura's newest additions to the band: she's quickly becoming the band's hardest working songwriter with new duties as the band's singer for several of her new songs. She has helped take the band's sound back to her Bracken County, Kentucky roots, with a definite "mercuro-touch".
Sounds LikeSounds like colors. Feels like sound. Tastes like pretty. Looks like cinnamon. Smells like concrete.

BIKER DRIVE-IN PARTY!!!

It's been a while in the making and think it's finally all come together.

What: Biker Drive-In - Projecting 8' x 16' biker movies!!
When: Saturday, August 9th 2008.
- 7pm until 2am??
Where: 17 Pine Hill Dr.
, Crestview KY 41076
Why: For the fun of it!! AND to raise some cash for a friend who decided to retaliate for a road rage incident against about 15 of us on motorcycles, nearly killing us. Now he has mounting legal fees in a certain state and we are trying to help out a little.

- $5 DONATION AT THE DOOR -

There will be ample Motorcycle parking, so ride here!! If you drive, well, you're on your own. We will be projecting old Biker Movies onto an 8' x 16' screen on the back hill at sundown until ??? 12-1am, maybe later if the cops don't come. This is a BYOB party, but we will be selling DRINK TICKETS as well, which you may then exchange for a cocktail of your choice at the Biker Bar. Probably Mojitos, Manhattans, Cosmo's, Bourbon and Coke etc.... you know, biker shit, this is also to help raise money for the cause. Bring a blanket or chairs to sit upon or cop a squat on the lawn.

I'll supply the bug spray for free!!

Food... hmmmmm. They'll be some. Lots of PopCorn even thought I hate the crap. There's a grill so feel free to bring whatever you like.
Hell, you're already getting movies and a bar, don't get greedy!

That's all. Hope to see everyone here! It will be a blast.

Tell everyone!!! EVERYONE!! All are invited!!
