Musicians, singers, songwriters, artists, poets, comedians, dancers, performers, contortionists, sword swallowers, jugglers, and anything else you can put on stage. With clothes on.
The Mercury Cafe, at 1505 W. Chicago Ave in the city of wind, is home to a brand new open mic night. We will be holding the open mic every first Wednesday. Open to anyone, we've already been host to poetry and short story readings, performance art, a slew of songwriters, and a few bands. Hosted by local singer/songwriter Matt Gandurski, the open mic takes place from about 6:30 to 9pm every first Wednesday of the month. Early sign up is welcome for artists, and recommended if you want to guarantee a slot, just drop us a line on here. Be sure to include your name and a brief description of what you do. Keep in mind, we use a very small PA, just a mic and speaker, so if you're a band, or an artist with a complicated setup, make sure you let us know first. Guess that's about it for now, stay tuned for updates, and come on out for some good coffee, food, and entertainment. See you there.
I added you as I thought you might be interested in what I am doing.
