Mercy Street, who secured a spot on DFest before the band had even played a live show. These guys are poised to give Tulsa's hard rock scene a quick kick in the ass to get things back on track for our heavier bands.
formed in the late 80's, when each member was between ages 5 and 7. Mercy street started off playing cover tunes in local bars. then came the nineties... A whole new mess of rock emerged and mercy street just could not keep up. they disbanded in the fall of 92'and went on their separate ways. In the summer of 07' Jon was working at a garage changing oil for a living and ran into brandon who needed an oil change for his 98' probe. the two reunited and made a vow to get the band back together. After months of searching with the aid of private investigaters and public records from american prisons, They found adam in alaska making driftwood furniture. Soon after, Adam had agreed to move back to oklahoma to join the band again. Adam had remembered seeing steven on a transfer bus going to the wachahita state prison in wyoming and had recalled that steven, when done with his sentence, was moving back to tulsa to find work and start a new life. Soon after they contacted steven who also decided to join in. lastly was finding matt. they found him in okmulgee playing weekends in a Mercy Street tribute band called "Wiener Street." They played all the covers Mercy Street played in the 80's plus the five originals mercy street had back then. No one new it was him because he went by the name "Mac Jewels" and always talked about how much he always wanted to play in this band from the late 80"s that no one had heard of.........Now the band is back together and rockin!! with a new slew of songs, the band is currently recording there debut album. "currently untitled" scheduled to be due out in the fall of 2008!.......That pretty much sums it up.. Tell all of your friends about MERCY STREET!
