Movies
Old ones, of course! Just because a movie is in black and white, doesn't mean that it's not a good story. I recently watched The Two Mrs. Carrolls and Humphrey Bogart had me so scared that I ran inside the house after putting out the trash when I saw a man walking down the street! No reason to be scared of the man, just spooked by Humphrey! MGM musicals rock, but I also like today's movies. The only ones I'm not into are shoot 'em ups that are just that...no plot. The ones where you get so bored you keep busy by counting how many people are shot. Not for me. Horror is okay as long as it is not a gore fest...I am more into suspense.

Eh...not so much now. I LOVED the Anne of Green Gables series, The Awakening, Walt Whitman, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, and Shakespeare...especially his sonnets.
Heroes
My parents...married 44 years today actually! They tackled every obstacle that got in their way and made it through. I've learned SO much from watching the way they live. :)
About me: My name is Meredith and I live in Gilbert, Arizona with my husband, Dave, and my two delightful girls, Lillian and Madeline.
I'm an old soul, into the ways of the past. The movies, the music, sure, but also the traditions and values. Although I love my tech toys, I could live without it all...except a dishwasher! My goal is to simplify my life in this modern world. To be able to one day, sip a glass of iced tea while rocking with Dave on our porch. To actually grow and produce something I can harvest before it burns up from the heat!
I need to create. I sew, sculpt, imagine, or build anything. If I can't find just what I want, I make it. Dave is amazing with wood and he helps me too. It makes me happy. :)

Elvis, Judy Garland, Gene Kelly, Van Johnson, Jim Henson, Gretchen Wilson, Aerosmith, Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, Shirley Temple, and Mickey Rooney. I was a few feet away from Mickey Rooney, but he was tired and wasn't going to greet anyone. He did, however, say hello to Lil...who can resist a little girl in ruby slippers?!

Thanks for the info. Sounds really great. It pretty much is a hobby, art, that runs in my family. All my sisters love to draw, oil painting. My younger sister is great at sketches, people and such.

We had a mild Christmas. Grandma is still in extended care, she caught a contagious bacterial infection, so she was stuck there for a while. Hopefully she will go home soon, they have been doing physical therapy for her.
Brian, I was in touch with him for a while, then was engaged to be married. He sent me an announcement, and I sent him a frame for a wedding gift. Then I never heard from him again. I left messages, asking how his wedding was, and he never called me back, and never answered his phone. Sad really! I heard that David got married and was an asst manager of the Disney Store.
