Merlin's Keep are a five-piece Celtic Folk Rock band originating from Grimsby on the east coast of England. They have been together since October 2006, and as well as being excellent musicians, they are also great friends, which becomes evident when they perform on stage.
Critically reviewed as "Rustic Mamas and Papas with a social conscience",
Merlin's Keep's music is an exuberant mix of original material with three, four and five-part harmonies, covers of old favourites, and foot-stomping traditional fiddle tunes. Their self-penned music is inspired by anything and everything, but always says something about the band's ethos.
Merlin's Keep pride themselves on their versatility, being equally comfortable at traditional folk clubs, festivals and hardened rock venues. Their sets can be tailored to suit any occasion.
Their debut album 'Wide Avalonian Skies' contains all the best elements of the Merlin's Keep sound, and puts the band's musicality, passion and sensitivity on full display.
The second album 'Mind, Body and Folk' was officially launched on July 17th and is now available for purchase.

The third album ' Of This World' is a work in progress, and the band are hoping to get it out there at the back end of 2009.
Merlin's Keep members are all involved in other projects too, which they've placed under one umbrella, and christened 'The Keep Collective'. Shindig, Honeysuckle, The Honeykeepers, Solo Sime, Josie Gray and the Old Time Alliance, not to mention the County Sessions, certainly keep them out of mischief!

Hi Keepers! I have a very tatty thank you card that I have been carrying around for you guys on behalf of us and the Eastwood Care Home for your very kind donation of a gig to our promises board. It is now a very belated thank you, oops! Hope to catch you before too long. We really appreciated it. We made approximately £700 on the night, so thank you for your part in it. Did you do the gig? I think a work colleague of mine won it. They said they were impressed when they had a listen to your myspace sound files and were looking forward to a good party with you, so hope they sorted it with you. Many thanks again! Hope the 3rd CD is going well, too Helen x
