mewithoutYou, The Devil Wears Prada, Coheed & Cambria, Maylene & The Sons of Disaster, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Between the Buried and Me, The Chariot, Everytime I Die, A Skylit Drive, Streetlight Manifesto, and every local band and friend that have helped us along the way.
Special Thanks Goes To: Music teachers everywhere, Mama Perry for sacrificing her living room so we could have practice space and always having food, 7-11 for being open late, sweet tea for fueling us, and everybody who ever said we couldn't do it. You only motivated us and now we're doing it.
Merredith is a conceptual amalgamation of multiple styles of music. It's something so heavy no man could lift it, yet so beautiful that grown men have been brought to their knees. Combining elements of thrash with progressive ideas, shredding guitars, and Southern-soaked undertones, Merredith's music clearly celebrates God's gift of His Son to us.
The Band:
Matt Gagnon -- Lead vocalist of Merredith, the voice that sets the mood of the music. Blessed with an extraordinary range in his screams, Matt can curdle your blood with high notes, stomp on your toes with the low ones, and scare you to death with his brutal midrange.
Travis Fowler -- One of the two guitarists in the band, Travis is the excellent musician who writes most of Merredith's songs. A talented lead player, and also the brains behind the spine-crushing breakdowns and start-stop riffing, Travis is an essential to Merredith and has been with them since the beginning.
Zachary McGinness -- The second of the two guitar players in the band an also a skilled lead player, Zachary uses Merredith as an output for his obsession with oldschool heavy metal and skull-shattering solos.
David McGloghn -- Bass player in Merredith and often the voice of reason in life. While adding all the low notes to the music, David also helps things for the band to flow together during hard times and bad days.
Ian Perry -- A young and very talented drummer, Ian is the rhythmic background of Merredith. With a good attitude and horrifiying double-bass, Ian's drumrolls and blastbeats are sure to upset old people. And ladies, isn't he just SUCH a cutie?
In these dark times, worse with every generation, Merredith's goal is to be a shining beacon of light both in the music and spiritual worlds, sharing God's love through emotional and powerful music.
We hope to put on an loud, energetic, and powerful show and give you something to enjoy on your ipod as well.
We are Merredith.
