Joel Sundholm and Nicklas Sternegård have played in the Karlstad-based band Siri which dissolved in 2003. Emanating from this originial setting is the band Merry which started working seriously in 2005. Together with Johan Ivansson, electric bass, Johan Lager, guitar, and Kristofer Sundberg, drums, their ambition is to play classy, soulful rock music that touches the listener.
The majority of the material is produced by Joel and Nicklas, but as the distance between their respective locations (Umeå and Gothenburg) makes production co-operation hard, Joel is now producing most of the material. The lyrics provide honest dealings with the matters of the heart - love, doubt, and faith.
Home location for the band is a studio in Umeå where they have so far had two recording sessions. Four tracks are found on the band's web-site www.myspace.com/merry. November sees their first EP-release, and the band is now eager to get out of the studio and do more gigs.
