Late 1997, in Jacksonville, FL, saw the birth of Merry Widow; a revival of a dying style of dark-rock. Now in 2004 that revival has evolved into an international movement as the band prepares for the release of their next album.
Merry Widow, in its current incarnation, is vocalist Xelana M. Drake, Sketch J. O'Brien on vocals and keyboards, bassist Georgie3F, and guitarist Rick Price. Though the band has seen many changes in the past four years and suffered many losses, they have proven to stay true to their sound and vision in their latest lineup. Now they prepare to continue the success that they have seen thus far. With the followup to "Ties that Bind" nearly complete, a fall tour in the works and a whole new lineup, Merry Widow is ready to take the stage by storm, and the world is ready to watch
The Band out and about: So over the last few years the band has had the opportunity to meet and perform with some great people

Merry Widow, your music is magnificent! I would very much like to see it on Artopium.com! I've noticed that you haven't signed up to create an Artopium profile yet. I would like to help put your music into the Artopium Artist Index so that you and your work can receive more exposure and possibly more sales. Because I am the sole administrator of Artopium.com, I can also help place your work above the other 300+ artists already on Artopium to help maximize this exposure. If you are interested in this, please sign up to the My Artopium Member Area where you can upload your multimedia files and create an online profile to sell your music. Once this is done, comment my page with a link back to your Artopium profile and I will see to it that your work gets on the Artopium front page for a while. Anyway, best of wishes!
December 25th and Ties That Bind comes in the mail.
"Little Me", "Mr. Nightmare", and "Novelty".... I loved those three especially, but the entire album was amazing. And the instrumental at the end was very well done, too. The best album I've listened to this weekend is between Ties That Bind and Wreck of the Day.
I really can relate to this, it is so close to the style we started writing along time ago back in 1997. The drum machine and keyboards with unisex vocals. Evolving on a daily level... I love it, great sounds from great minds...
I saw you guys at the Jacksonville concert a few weekends ago. Yes, I came to see CXS, true; but I also saw them in 2004 and was definitely NOT impressed with the opening bands, I think they were all from Germany, but it was one of the most incoherent things I've ever seen. So when I came to the 2005 show I was expecting much of the same....but when you guys came on stage, I loved it. I wanted you to play more! I was too broke to buy your CD thanks to college but I plan on picking one up soon. :)
Yes! I got Never Winter yesterday! I love the songs "Rant" and "House of Cards". It was a great album, although now I'm curious to hear "Stalker Song".
