Mersey club was based in 1993 and in first 3 years of it..s existence it was orientated mostly to indie culture and concerts. Those days there had taken place as many as 18 concerts a month in the club - czech as well as foreign bands: Ticha Dohoda, Dunaj, Vladimir Misik + ETC, Michal Pavlicek, La Mano (USA), A Subtle Plague (USA), Nikki Sudden + The Jacobites (UK), Jolly Joker, Iva Bittova, Jana Koubkova, Revolutionary Dub Warriors, Mary Love, Skareda Holka, Narvan and many more.

Pavel Tesar - owner of the club and founder of Mersey Agency - had also organized bigger events: in 1994 it was The Legendary Ping Dots concert, and in 1995 concert of The Siouxsie and The Banshees.

In 1996, when L.P.Fish had come to the club as a dramaturgist, the focus of events switched to dance music. Mersey club had become soon the most popular moravian dance club and lots of DJs had performed here: Javas, Vik, Koala, Loutka, Bidlo, Pavel Krejdl, Agent, Leo Lycra, Tvyks, Chris Sadler, Trava, Orbith, Marquel, Koogi, JDJ (UK), Jazz Con Bazz (S) etc.

With the popularity of the club had come complaints about noise and so in 1998 the concerts and dance parties were banned. The club was rented for 7 years and program focused to more conservative audience; student nights, oldies and disco parties were taking place there.

In the period 1998 - 2008 the original owner of the club - Pavel Tesar was organizing bigger dance events and festivals:

Supersonic Garage - 14times - legendary underground party for 1500 people (98-2002)

Metronome Festival - 2times - open air festival for 3000 people (2001-2002)

Hradhouse Festival - 11times - one of the 3 biggest Czech open air events (founded 1998) at Boskovice Castle - 6000 people

Eternity club party - 15times - various clubs in CZ .. 1000 capacity

Rio De Riviera - 2x - new multi-genre festival (concerts,hip hop, techno) 10000 capacity

Creamfields Central Europe - 1x - prestigeous international multi-genre festival (concerts,techno,trance,drumandbass,hip hop) 20000 capacity

Except from these activities Pavel Tesar was doing management of DJ Lucca and DJ bookings. When the boom of dance parties had fallen off in 2004, he decided to take the club back (in June 2005), rebuild the interior and push the dramaturgy to the new direction.

First year was quite difficult, as the situation had changed much since 1998 and it was hard to survive in big club competition. The musical focus of the club is miscellaneous. In 2005 there had born new projects like Switch (r..n..b night), Domino (minimal night), deep house night Soulstice, club night Groovin!, Glitter (70..s disco, soul, funk), from which survived Soulstice and Groovin. Later came successfull party-series like D..n..B Wave, French Kiss (french electro, house), Nurse Party or O..Solid (rap + r..n..b). Constantly popular are Depeche Mode Evenings and Oldies Parties.

Currently popular nights in the club are In Progress (electro/house), Candy shop (rnb, funky), London Calling (indie-electro-rock..n..roll), Zewlowacka (reggae) and Illusion (minimal house). Number of student parties and Oldies party on Thursday have a certain popularity too.

In October 2006 there took place 13 yrs Anniversary of the club with guest Justin Robertson (UK).

In October 2007 there took place 14 yrs Anniversary of the club with Austrian band Inina Gap.

On 25th October 2008 there will place 15 yrs Anniversary of the club with Austrian DJs Felipe and Claudio Ricci. Special appearance by Playmate 2007 Dominika Mesarosova.
