.. THIS IS SO SAD .. ANIMAL TESTING. One animal dies every 6 seconds in a UK laboratory in tests that provide misleading information and result in dangerous products being released onto the market. In particular, we support the campaign to close down Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS)Europe's largest animal testing lab, based in cambridge, where 500 animals are killed EVERY DAY. We believe the campaign against HLS is affecting the vivisection industry on a global scale. The campaign to close down HLS is being run by SHAC. (Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty). CLICK HERE for more information' NEWCHURCH. The animal rights movement won a great victory in 2005 when Newchurch Guinea Pig Farm closed for business. This vile place, run by the Hall family, bred Guinea Pigs for sale to vivisection laboratories. The well being of the remaining Guinea pigs is not yet assured, as we don't know what the hall family plan to do to them. DEMONSTRATION AT NEWCHURCH. We also support the SPEAK campaign to close the proposed Oxford Primate Laboratory. HUNTING. For the moment, hunting has been banned by legislation. But we must remain vigilant-politicians cannot always be trusted, especially politicians like Tony Blair. The Government dragged its feet over the hunting ban, and it may backtrack on what it has reluctantly been made to do so far. Watch this space. .. FACTORY FARMING. Over 800 million animals are slaughtered every year in British abattoirs. Most of these animals spend their short lives in intensive conditions with little space to satisfy even the most basic of biological needs. We promote the vegan diet as the basis of a compassionate lifestyle. ZOOS and CIRCUSES. We Believe that circuses with animals should be outlawed. Zoos, despite being promoted as educational and a form of conservation, commit animals to a life behind bars. The money spent on the upkeep of these animals in zoos would be better spent on real conservation projects in the species real habitat OTHER FORMS OF CRUELTY. As well as the more obvious forms of animal abuse, such as vivisection, factory farming etc, there are many abuses of our fellow animals that we don't stop to think about. Horses and dogs are abused by the racing and betting industries every day. How do you think a fish feels when a razor sharp hook is driven through the roof of its mouth? This is done by anglers every day. How do you think a live lobster feels when it is dropped into a pan of boiling water? Thousands of lobsters are killed in this way every day. How would you like to be dropped into a pit with a hunger-crazed tiger? Thousands of people who own 'exotic' pets feed them with live creatures every day.

HeroesSUPPORTING VEGAN PRISONERS Around the UK, and in other countries, there are people who have been imprisoned for participating in the animal rights movement, in some cases, receiving harsh and and disproportionate sentences, e.g. the case of Sarah Gisbourne, who got six years after being found guilty of criminal damage against an animal abusing establishment on the very same day that a woman found guilty of murdering her child only got five years. These animal rights campaigners need our help and support whilst facing difficult and sometimes long periods in prison. The Vegan Prisoners Support Group website gives information about prisoners and how to help them in practical ways. Shac7 are a group of animal rights activists in the USA. The U.S. Government is terrified of them. They were arrested on ridiculous charges a year ago and may be facing up to 25 years in prison!! It is a ridiculous case. We need to show some international solidarity here. HERE'S THE ADRESSES OF THE SHAC7 PLEASE WRITE WITH LETTERS OF SUPPORT.
