Starbolt 9 is melodious space rock, conceived by stellar frontman Jo Phantastic. The band’s fusion of classic glam rock, post punk and modern Brit-pop has raised more than a few eyebrows, earning them comparisons to legends such as David Bowie, Echo and The Bunnymen and The Verve, and the praise of Sex Pistols founder, Glen Matlock. Phantastic’s dark, ultra-expressive vocals and snake-charmer bass lines are complimented by the lush, hypnotic guitar lines of Mik Rodriguez, the elegant power guitar attack of Dr. Michael Fate, and the rhythmic pulse of drummer Patsy-A-Go-Go. Starbolt 9 has now become New York City’s foremost neo-glam band.
Starbolt 9 has played at such prestigious NYC venues as The Knitting Factory, The Mercury Lounge, Crash Mansion, and The Rothko along with comparable venues outside the metro-area, spanning the Northeastern coast. They have played alongside notable bands such as The Fiery Furnaces, Slinky Vagabond, We Are The Fury, and Spindrift. They have performed live for 107.7 WACC in Connecticut.
