"First influenced by attending Jah Shaka and 12 Tribes dances around '82. Started playing in the mid 80's. Officially known as Messenger Hi-Fi by '87. Playing out weekly and gathering equipment (to make up for the then inadequate in-house systems). Through the years, by '95 everything was in place - custom built amps, pre-amp, effects, scoops, sound-van and wires - Messenger Sound System was properly unleashed - Scotland's first autonomous high powered roots + culture sound! No longer could roots reggae be pushed aside! Through 'nuff hard work and many, many upfull and enjoyable roots dances Messenger has played its part in establishing conscious reggae muzik as the major attraction!
