IN THE NEW HAMMER!
Check out this month’s Metal Hammer for our 12 page Golden God Awards Special: the bands, the awards the stars, the live sets, the gossip, the debauchery and the photos of it! So that’s everyone from
IRON MAIDEN, MACHINE HEAD and
TRIVIUM to
SAXON, ANVIL and
DRAGONFORCE and
STEVE VAI – and everyone in between! Oh, and
STEEL PANTHER.
SUICIDE SILENCE are one of the best new heavy bands to emerge from the US and are taking the world by storm – they even got in the charts! We tell their story.
ALEXISONFIRE have returned with their fourth album and Hammer gets the skinny from frontman George Pettit on balancing extremes.
CLUTCH are utterly unstoppable, and we chat to the band about their brand new album, their ninth in 16 years!
We head out to Austria and Italy to hang out with Southern metallers,
UNDEROATH and get to the bottom of their sound – and paint a little picture about who the guys are to each other.
LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe tells us the story of his life and how music came to take over his life. And we give
ALESTORM a well-deserved plank-walking in the Spanish Inquisition.
Also, we explain how
BLACK SABBATH’s seminal, ‘Masters Of Reality’ was made; we join the dots with
ARCH ENEMY and let you know the essentials from their back catalogue; and we take a look at legendary punk rock frontman
GG ALLIN.
With every issue this month comes a very special limited
SLIPKNOT pin badge!
This month’s CD is the return of the heavy hitters! 15 tracks from some of the world’s greatest current metal bands including
HEAVEN AND HELL, DEVILDRIVER, LAMB OF GOD, DREAM THEATER and exclusive from
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and
OBITUARY. Not to mention awesome new music from
THE GHOST OF A THOUSAND, FOREVER NEVER, VIATROPHY and more!

And if you’re wondering where to get your copy of Hammer, why not head to Tesco where you will get a bonus disc, an album sampler from UK rockers
SONDURA (exclusive to Tesco). Check them out at

More on Sondura: British hard rock troupe Sondura release their debut album, ‘Live Before You Die’ on 29th July on Hardsound Records. You may have seen the South Eastern quartet on the circuit already, or possibly on their highly successful Guitar Hero schools tours where the band played to over 25,000 kids eager for the rock, and if you bought your copy of Metal Hammer in Tesco Then you will have a five track sampler of the album. As for the response to them at the Guitar Hero tour: “The crowd reaction at the school gigs was crazy. Sometimes we’ll have 500 kids going completely mental. Then they’re straight onto our MySpace page after the gigs; it’s great that we have that contact with them afterwards as well as during.” The album was recorded at Outhouse Studios in Reading, by Ben Humphreys and Matt O’Grady and mixed there by John Mitchell who’s worked with the likes of Funeral For A Friend, Enter Shikari and one of the UK’s hottest new heavies, Architects. Check them out at

Loving the mag as always, keep up the good work.
But was just wondering if you could feature Rammstein in a not too distant future issue?
It's been ages since anyone heard from them, and having just watched their spectacular live performance in Nimes France courtesy of Volkerball, my appetite for them needs to be satisfied!
Anything would be appreciative - poster, a retrospective history via metal detector, or better yet some news on the new album or an interview!
Cheers!
