Send us an e-mail at contest@hemoptysismetal.com with your name and tell us what you think we should name the beast. The winner of the contest will be chosen by the band and the winner will receive a copy of our CD, "Who Needs a Shepherd?," a Hemoptysis T-shirt, Hemoptysis poster and a Hemoptysis sticker. The contest ends on August 31st. The winner will be announced on September 1st, 2009.
Information on the beast: The beast is derived from our song and album title, "Who Needs a Shepherd?" At the beginning of the song the priest talks about how Christians are weak and how they need a shepherd like Jesus to help them cope with life. He says that Christians are not the king of beasts, but are in fact the feast of the king of beasts.
The beast character was designed to be a cross between nature's king of beasts (a lion) and Satan (the spiritual king of beasts in Christian belief according to the priest at the beginning of the song). The artwork for the album shows the beast devouring Jesus with countless skulls of devoured Christians in the background.
