As many of you are now aware, Metal Mayhem is no longer located in the Banana Alley Vaults on Flinders St. Our new address, as of Sep 29 2008 is 459 High St Northcote. This address is between Northcote Station and Croxton Station if you're travelling by train. There is also free off street parking along High St and free 2 hour parking at Northcote Plaza. The tram (Number 86, the RMIT/Bundoora Line) also runs right past the store.
We'll be offerering a reward card upon purchase of new cds, as well as student discounts. We are also now stocks used cds etc as well as our comprehensive range of merchandise.
Don't forget to check out the new Ilium album 'Vespertilion'. Anyone that is a fan of ultra epic melodic traditional metal with power/progressive elements will love this. A great release from a local act and it features Lord Tim (ex Dungeon) on vocals. An absolute must, so support the local scene!
Finally, Jason Hodges the main person from Ilium and author, has a special going to Metal Mayhem customers. Metal Mayhem first opened in 1998, on the 24th of October. To celebrate the occassion, Canadian extreme Metal industrialists, Strapping Young Lad did an instore signing. This was on Elizabeth street.
In 1999 Metal Mayhem began distributing it's products nationwide under the name MMD (Metal Mayhem Distributions). We still distribute to all corners of this big Metal united nation! After two years on Elizabeth street, Metal Mayhem was forced to move as renovations were being made to a large section of the street. Not giving up without a fight, Metal Mayhem moved to an old Metal relic site, Flinders street, Bananna Alley!
February, 2001 this site emerged triumphant! We are very proud to bring to you, the Metal maniacs, another great step in bringing your Metal to all platforms! This web site now makes getting hold of those rare or simlply unreachable Metal items that much easier. Now for those Metal Heads who cannot make it to the store, you can stock up on your Metal supplies through our catalogue and online order form!
Put together the first music video for one of the songs, that being for the song "Eel Marsh House", which is based on the movie "The Woman In Black". Wasn't sure to name it that instead of 'Eel Marsh..." ...Eel Marsh House being where the woman in black 'lived', and now haunts it. Though, she seems to haunt the general area of the village as well as the House. If anyone catches her gaze, looks into her eyes....a child will die, usually from the family of the person unfortunate to look at her. As you see what happens to the story's main character at the end.
