Remains formed under the name of Trampled in 2005.
With Jesper van Hoften on the guitar, Martijn Rietveld on the drums and Martijn Geelhoed doing vocals they started practicing in Dordrecht, after a while they moved to Goes as base of operation.
In June 2006 Vincent Krijger joined the band as the bassist of Remains quickly followed by Chico Costa as second guitarist in November. At that time Remains was busy recording their first Demo/EP in the Redroom Studio called Approaching the Gates which was released in February of 2007. The Demo contains 4 songs: Final Tear, Shell Shock, Approaching the Gates and Systematic. An unknown amount of these songs will also be released on a split 7" together with Acheron somewhere in 2007, released by Timeless Wounds and Seven Times More Scary productions.
Their style is best described as old school death metal with influences by early Gorefest, Asphyx, Death, Pestilence , Obituary and many more.
As for now, they're doing performances in and around Zeeland.
