The idea of creating an Irish-based Metal magazine first came about in late 2001, with the aim of giving Irish underground acts exposure alongside household names from the Metal world.
In 2002, Metalworks 1 was released to great acclaim. Financial restraints and the Irish public's over-eagerness to persist with buying foreign-based magazines have since hampered us somewhat, resulting in delay after delay.
However, the finishing touches are now finally being put to Metalworks 5, which will see the light shortly.
And with new structures having been put in place, we're confident that we'll be bringing you your dose of printed Irish Metal with more frequency from here on.
While the wait is on for the release of Metalworks 5, we've decided to show what we've been up to during the magazine's hiatus. Many interviews were completed and reviews written that are too out-of date now to feature in the magazine, so in the coming weeks and months, these will be uploaded and available on www.metalworksmagazine.com. The first of these should appear very soon, with more to follow every week or so thereafter. Those who suspect we have been idly dossing the time away since our last issue are in for a surprise!
On top of this, www.metalworksmagazine.com will undergo a complete overhaul in the coming weeks, thanks to our new web designer, Barry Gallagher, so keep an eye on the site for more new features and surprises.
