Taking their name from a song by Izzy Stradlin, METHANOL was formed in the fall of 2004 by two long-time jamming buddies, singer/guitarist Seth Martino and bassist Joey G. Many jam sessions at a local open mic introduced the duo to a guitarist/curiosity who calls himself Whyte Myke. The three hit it off immediately and Whyte Myke soon became the third member of METHANOL. Martino would later go on to comment that “Whyte Myke is the whitest black guy I've ever met,” referring to Myke's wild hip-pumping gyrations on stage! After a few years of playing with different drummers, the three finally named skin-basher, Brian Domenick, as their permanent drummer after trying to steal him away from his previous band to no avail.
Officially located in Rochester, NY, METHANOL is hitting the streets with their brash in-your-face style of rock ‘n’ roll, and leaving audiences amazed! “METHANOL is a fantastic hard rock band,” exclaims Frank DeBlase of The Buzz (98.9 FM)! Their happy medium between punk and heavy metal has earned them comparisons to bands like GUNS N' ROSES and ALICE IN CHAINS. “METHANOL’s slick, attitude-infused rock ‘n’ roll can’t help but take you back to the 1980s rock scene and contemporary bands influenced by that sound, such as VELVET REVOLVER or QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE,” says Troy Smith of the Rochester “Insider.”
The band enjoys weekly spins on local radio stations, The Buzz (98.9 FM), The Zone (94.1 FM) and WBER (90.5 FM). METHANOL has also had feature articles written about them in the Rochester papers “Insider” and “CITY.” In addition to local press, the band has shared the stage with such artists as WEDNESDAY 13 and also ranked third in the second round of the ‘Bodog Battle of the Bands’ in New York City. Their high-energy live performances have enticed indie label artists’ ZO2 to perform in Rochester with METHANOL opening the show.

Nothing much just trying to get my life in order. Its been such a mess for the past 4 yrs since my older brother Died. He practically raised me and it was hard trying to move on. And between that and my Childhood experiences its been really tough. But im trying. Met the woman of my dreams and fell in love with her. But shes with someone atm a real asshole so im hoping she breaks free from that. Other than that im not too bad at all just trying to keep on keepin on a day at a time.
