About Metric Noise
Copenhagen based Metric Noise broke through the wall of sound as they
in 2004 released the debut album Racing Laps Of Distortion. The album
showed a hard-hitting, forward looking and progressive
rock band, with roots in the late 80s and early 90s
scene with a mix of styles from several corners of the alternative
scene. The band subsequently played a number of concerts
in Denmark - and abroad and was in the summer of 2005 on stage at that
year's Roskilde festival.
Now the band is back with a follow-up produced by The
Great Nalna and Jesper a regional (EPO555, Junior Senior,
Raveonettes, etc.) The 10 songs are completely cut to the bone and
shows a mature and experienced band. The style is still skewed
but the"Fuck you" attitude has been replaced by a broader
musical expression that suits the band.
Christoffer Eriksens cryptic yet meaningful lyrics have,
really been givin’ room to fold out on the new album, giving
the music, kind of a contemplative depth. "... Only a moment
but still a hundred years - Mind set on joy and no room for
solitude - like chasing the wind with eager hands --
Not thinking about tomorrow ... "
Spiced up with varying guitar themes and a stable drum /
bass groove the record could prove to be longlasting. The soundtrack of
the forgotten youth or the pulse of a metropol.
The new album was released on Monday 14 April 2008.
Live Metric Noise is still an energetic and exciting band,
delivering the goods every time. Performing live the trio becomes
a quartet as Jesper Sand, former guitarist in
"Thau", provides backing vocals, guitar and synth!
