From basement shows with a head bobbing button masher swaying back and forth behind a rack to teeth gritting synths rocking on stage in clubs Metris is becoming a distinct sound in electronic music.
Metris was formed in 2003 by Ryan McGowan. Since his humble beginnings at open mics performing impromptu dance tracks as red lights from groove boxes flash across his face Metris has continued to evolve his sound. Cerebral bass, lush pads and pulsing, sometimes abrasive, rhythm lay foundation for sporadic vocals to be littered about in a careful fashion.
In 2007 Metris joined the Brick City Media / Milled Pavement label.
Energetic live shows followed as audiences were invigorated to see electronic music performed with a rock band approach.
Metris was voted “Best Electronic Act” and “Best Techno Producer” in the WePushButtons Awards in 2007 and “Best Electronic Act” again in 2008.
I don't usually do these things, but I'd really like to win this one. Please go to Pinup Parking Lot's page (find it in my top friends or by /pinupparkinglot) and leave a comment on my photo in the "pinup contest" album to vote for me. Only leave one comment and then spread the word. ;) I would super appreciate it. <3 Ludella

In case anyone didn't know, Ryan McGowan (aka Metris) did the music for this movie trailer that we did. He was awesome and I can't wait to get the feature so he can really dig in and show off more of what has made him one of the hottest acts in southern Maine. Take a minute and check it out and head over to the site and share some love. www.slayers-movie.com
