    Metro Arts Alliance strives to connect the community to the arts. We are always looking for new artists to employ and new venues to collaborate with. We employ artists in dance, music, architecture, literature, storytelling, theatre and visual arts. We have many membership and volunteer opportunities available.     I will be selling my jewelry at the Iowa State Fair, This Friday the
    21st.  I will be at Art Under the Tent.  So plan on coming to the fair
    and come and see my new jewelry creations. I will be set up from 10am - 8pm. See You There.

    Back to School Blast is about bringing the community and schools together and particularly teachers and students, for a fun and positive jump start to this school year. Activities will include opportunities like three legged races for teachers and students to compete in. We are also looking for volunteers. Also have vender and both spots opened for cooks and artist. Also local music artist.

    Hello friend and welcome to the Corrosive Company family.  For some of you, you may know who we are but for others allow me to explain.  Corrosive Company was created by the Dunaway couple Harpo and Day.  Corrosive Company first started off as a T-Shirt company but we have advanced since then.  Corrosive Company is just more than a name. It is expression of life we have created for everyone around the world.  We do anything from web designs,digital art,photography,drawings,graphic designing, shirts, flyers, cd art, and anything in between.  You think of it we will create it. And plus we are the most reasonable and down to earth people to work with.  Corrosive Company won't try and take advantage of you.  We believe art is more than just a price tag.  So once again welcome and let Corrosive Company pleasure you artistically!!!

    Friday, June 26 - 5-9pm, Kirkwood Hotel lobby, 4th & Walnut,
    Downtown Des Moines

    Featured Artists: Steve Baier, Jon Baldwin, Cinda Dixon, Shawn Palek, Mike Roate

    Celebrate America's upcoming birthday with original and inspiring works by 5 of the finest visual artists Des Moines has to offer!

    Art on display will range from traditional Patriotic images to American Folklore to the concept of Divine Providence, and much much more.

    All artists will be present!

    Admission is free and open to all ages. Music by John Burns.

    Refreshments available from the Azaea restaurant.

    View abstract expressionist painter Abby Jones's latest work at the Paul Engle Center For Neighborhood Arts, 1600 4th Ave. SE. Gallery hours are Tuesday evenings from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00am to 2:00pm, or by appointment. Cost: free to the public.

    The influence of such classic abstract expressionists like Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock are evident in her work, but Abby Jones takes the form in her own direction. The result is art that is both interpretive and deeply personal, full of vibrant color.

    Culture Inc. will be hosting a reception for artist James Goetz, March 21st from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. During the reception Rachel Rockwell and artist James Goetz will briefly be sharing the amazing realistic and measurable what impact the arts have on at-risk youth.
