       Metromania Magazine's Blurbs
    About me:
    ..Met..ro*ma"ni*a.., n. - A mania for writing verses.

Metromania Magazine was created by Brianne Killoran and Heather MacPherson. Our staff photographer and fellow editor is Joy MacPherson.

Metromania Magazine is an online magazine of meeting minds and swapping stories. It is for people in all places of life who value good conversation and exceptional writing. It is for business people who scribble poems on napkins during lunch breaks, students who pause between Algebra classes to swap stories from their childhoods, and for those who endanger the lives of others by jotting down song ideas during rush hour traffic. It is for those who perceive the world's moments as a poet, search for storylines in the seemingly ordinary as a fiction writer, or have a message in a life experience and need a place to unleash it. It is for those who haven't forgotten the merit of stopping to share their words with others.

    Who I'd like to meet:

    GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Metromania Magazine does not accept previously published work.

  • Simulataneous submissions are accepted.

  • Submit 3-5 unpublished poems at a time of any style or length.

  • Submit 1 short story at a time per reading period. (5,000 words max each)

  • Please do not send us a submission that has also been mailed out to countless other places at the same time. We will not consider it.

  • Email submissions may be sent to submissions@metromaniamagazine.com. If you submit through email please make your subject descriptive of your entry. (Short Story, Poetry, Rant, Essay, etc.) Also include your name, where you heard about us and a brief biography.

  • NO ATTACHMENTS! If you attach your work, we will neither acknowledge your submission or open the attachment. It will be a waste of your time and ours.

All accepted work will appear in our next bi-annual issue, and thereafter will be archived in online back issues.

Check out our page, Write On This, for inspiration!!

    READING PERIODS

    Winter Issue: October 1 - December 31

    Summer Issue: April 1 - June 30

You may submit between reading periods, however expect a response time of several months. For the quickest response time, submit towards the end of a reading period.

    PAYMENT

There is no payment for publication.

At this point in time, we are only able to offer writers the opportunity to showcase their work and broaden their audience. However, we promise that our writers will be the first to know if we hit the lotto or if Ed McMahon ever shows up on our doorstep with an awkward, over-sized check. (And that, of course, is a lie. If any of us win the lottery, we'll take the money and run!)
