Il gruppo nasce agli albori del nuovo millennio. Amici da molto tempo, ma provenienti ognuno da esperienze musicali diverse, i Metropolitan Ratto Sweet danno vita al loro repertorio componendo brani inediti di rock venato da generi di ogni tipo. La formazione iniziale è composta dai seguenti musicisti: MASSIMO ZINGONI - Basso, Voce FABIO BENEDETTI - Chitarra, Voci ROBERTO VILLANI - Percussioni, Drum-Machine, Tastiera, Voci ALESSANDRO GRASSO - Batteria dei quali Massimo ed Alessandro fondatori dei "RATTI". Nel 2001 il gruppo incide un CD autoprodotto (ALLAPPY) in uno stile rock, con i sempre fedeli innesti blues, musica metropolitana e funk su ritmiche serrate. I testi dei brani prendono spunto da professionisti del cinema e film. Con toni a tratti demenziali. Ne seguono concerti nella capitale e zone limitrofe. Nel 2007 i Metropolitan Ratto Sweet si rifugiano di nuovo in studio di registrazione per dar vita all'ultimo cd autoprodotto: FRITTO MISTO.

Questa volta le argomentazioni dei brani non prendono soltanto spunto dal mondo del cinema ma si ampliano su più fronti: sport, romanzi, gangsters, fetish, eventi vari. Il nuovo album è stato arricchito dalla partecipazione di musicisti ed amici esterni al gruppo, sono stati inseriti strumenti acustici, cori ed effetti sonori.
Il rock questa volta crea connubi con molti più generi musicali. Funk, jazz, elettronica, folk, reggae, blues, bluegrass, country, pop. Gli elementi rimasti invariati sono la costante demenzialità e le ritmiche eccessivamente serrate e rockeggianti. Nel 2008, dopo diversi concerti estivi, i Metropolitan Ratto Sweet subiscono di nuovo un cambiamento nella loro formazione...Il batterista Alessandro da le dimissioni. Il suo posto viene preso dal gia percussionista Roberto Villani.

Nei live i ratti si esibiscono con videoinstallazioni a tema con il repertorio, realizzate e curate dal videomaker ed amico Daniele Coccia.

The band was formed at the beginning of the new millenium. The bandmates are old friends, each with his own musical experience, who joined their skills to write (compose) and play rock pieces tinged with various genres. MASSIMO ZINGONI (Vocal/Bass) and ALESSANDRO GRASSO (Drums) are the founders of MRS whose lineup is shortly afterward joined by FABIO BENEDETTI (Guitar/Vocals) and ROBERTO VILLANI (Percussion, Drum-Machine, Keyboard, Vocals). Their debut is in 2001 with a CD (ALLAPPY) they produced on their own. It’s in Rock style grafted onto blues, metropolitan and funky music. Lyrics, inspired by movies and cine artist, are sometimes zany. MRS perform mostly in Rome and nearby areas. In 2007 MRS headed back into their studio to record FRITTO MISTO, once again auto produced. This time they draw inspiration not only from movies and movie world but also from sports, books, real characters and other events. The partecipation of other musicians and friends enriches the new CD in which acoustic instruments, chorus and sound effects are inserted. Their Rock style is now tinged with more musical genres such as: funk, jazz, electronic music, folk, reggae, blues, bluegrass, country, pop. The constant elements that characterize the band are the zany tones as well as the rhythm extremely rock and quick. In 2008, after several live performances, MRS‘s lineup changes. Alessandro (drums) leaves the band. His place his taken by Roberto previuosly on percussions. During their live shows the band is supported by videos realized and cared by Daniele Coccia, videomaker and friend of MRS components.
