#1 Mets fan ... stuck in Oklahoma.
Many times I've been asked how I became such a big Met fan living in Oklahoma.
My uncle pretty much got me started watching them in the late 80s-early 90s. He had this channel WWOR on his satellite dish. I'd come over to watch them quite a bit on the weekends. I've been a fan ever since. Even through the tough years in the early 90s. I've had the Extra Innings package from DirecTV since '99. With SNY I get just about every game.
I've never been to New York. I finally was able to go to New York before Shea Stadium closed. So thankful that my dad & I went. I've been wanting to go ever since I was a kid. Now looking forward to seeing my Mets play in Citi Field. Hopefully they'll have better luck there.
I try to go somewhere to see the Mets every year but haven't been able to since 2003 because of health problems. I have Crohn's / Ulcerative Colitis.
I've been to the old Busch Stadium (4 times), The Astrodome, Minute Maid Park, Arlington & now of course, Shea Stadium in New York to see them. I would also like to go to Coors Field in Colorado some time for a Met series.
