Influences
Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Donavon Frankenreiter, Xavier rudd, ALO, John Lee Hooker, Absynth Minded, Spearhead, Nina Simone, some old grooving stride-pianists as there are Thomas "Fats" Waller & James P. Johnson, Art Tatum, swingers such as Earl Hines & Louis Armstrong and a lot of other influential jazz-musicians of the early decades of the previous century.
In january '06 after some hard weeks Tom grabbed the guitar and started playing...He noticed that some chords made a great sound...that same day he tried to sing on the chords he found...he realised that he just made a part of a song that came right of his own mind. It made him feel great and a smile came on his face. It was a nice experience so he decided to play and sing more... Months were passing by and he felt that most of the song weren't complete. Instruments were missing... A couple of rehearsels with some good friends made him think more about his music. He really wanted a piano in the songs...to keep the songs relaxed...In august '06 Koen van Damme (ex-A200Club, ex-Phoebus) was already playing some great stuff on the piano and was heading for the basics of jazz. As good friends they decided to try to play together...after the first time playing it felt as a great team so until now they are playing over and over again...every week, making songs...when things are created well enough and finished we will hit some stage...
In the meantime Stijn has joined the band (begin of 2007). As a drummer and percussionist he succeeds in complementing our sound so we're glad to have him with us. Just like the musical adventure continues to grow and evolves, the number of members increases which is nice. The more creative souls there are, the more variety can be put into the music. What's left for the future:
In july '07 Koen will leave Belgium for one month...a resourcing of the human mind will be the plan. Together with his girlfriend he'll visit the magnificent country Myanmar, South-East Asia...
In October '07 Tom, and girlfriend, will leave for a year to explore the south-East of Asia and India. Bringing back: Good vibes and lots of inspiration for new songs...
Metzon Travel will make a small record in the end of september...
Playing one more time in october before taking a brake in 2008...
Haaai everiboddi komende vrijdag 7 december treden we op int "maegher goet" te oostakker (achter de kerk). Wij beginnen om half tien, inkom is gratis en we sluiten af me een happy hour. Ik hoop jullie allen te ontmoeten. xxx

twas weer eens een scheve avond eh :) de nico heeft gans zen kamer nog overhoop gehaald zonder dat ie iets heeft beseft...computerscherm op de grond enal haha. tof daje de clip goed vindt, tkan hier en daar beter marr aangezien budget/tijd benik wel content. yo!
