THE BAND WAS FORMED IN 2002 BY DARREN REILLY A SONGWRITER FROM DUBLIN IRELAND AS A WAY OF UNLEASHING THE SOUNDS HE HAD ENVISIONED TO THE MASSES. AFTER A YEAR OF WRITING AND PERFORMING SOLO DARREN DECIDED TO HIT THE STUDIO TO RECORD SOME OF HIS MANY IDEAS.THE USUAL IDEA OF FORMING A BAND,REHEARSING THE MATERIAL,THEN RECORD WAS ABANDONED.INSTEAD DARREN CONTACTED TWO OLD FREINDS FROM PREVIOUS BANDS.TURN UP ,PLUG IN AND LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS.IT WORKED!
THE RESULTING 3 TRACK CD WAS HANDED TO ANYONE WHO WOULD LISTEN.IT WAS ALSO POSTED ON THE NET
AND GAINED INTEREST FROM THE UNITED STATES,EUROPE AND AUSTRAILIA.THE DECISION WAS MADE TO FORM A LIVE BAND.
ON THE 3RD OF JUNE 2002 MEXICAN DOG CIRCUS PLAYED ITS FIRST GIG IN A WELL KNOWN DUBLIN VENUE.OVER THE NEXT YEAR THE BAND BUILT A SOLID FOLLOWING AND WERE APPROACHED BY SEVERAL PEOPLE LOOKING TO MANAGE THEM.HOWEVER DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES DARREN AND THE BAND WERE FORCED TO TAKE A HIATUS AFTER WHAT WAS THEIR FINEST PERFORMANCE IN JULY 2003. ON JULY 4TH 2004 DARREN PLAYED A SHOW IN EAMONN DORANS WITH TWO MEMBERS OF UP AND COMING DUBLIN BAND "NOAH TAKES THE JUNGLE" ON BASS AND DRUMMING DUTIES.IT WAS INTENDED TO BE A ONCE OFF BUT CONFIDENCE AND INSPIRATION WERE HIGH AFTER KIND WORDS FROM SUPPORT BAND "ANGELS OF MONS" AND MANY OF THE CROWD.
AFTER A SHORT TIME OF CONSIDERATION DARREN DECIDED TO BEGIN WRITING SOME NEW MUSIC.IT HAS TAKEN A WHILE BUT MEXICAN DOG CIRCUS IS BACK!
