  • Bio

Mexican Gunfight is 4/5 of The Renegade Saints and 100% dedicated to having fun playing originals and covers ranging from rock to country. We pay homage to acts as diverse as Neil Young, Hothouse Flowers, Willie Nelson, Santana, Glen Campbell and Little Feat while offering just as much stylistic variety in our originals. We borrow songs from the other original acts we've been in including the Renegade Saints, Kerosene Dream, The Strangers, and Nine Days Wonder. The spirit behind Mexican Gunfight is to consider all styles as fair game and have a blast jamming on them.

Music teachers, each other, whatever was on the radio growing up, whatever our older siblings listened to growing up, Allman Brothers, Glen Campbell, Eric Clapton, Tom Coster, Crosby Stills and Nash, Dr. John, Bob Dylan, Grateful Dead, John Hiatt, Keith Jarrett, Jesus Christ Superstar, Led Zeppelin, John Lennon, Little Feat, Little Women, Makers Mark, T-Monk, Brent Mydland, Willie Nelson, Bill Payne, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Santana, Spinoza, The Band, The Beatles, Leo Tolstoy, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Neil Young, Zero…

"Northern Rock," a blend of Classic Southern jam and Heartland songcraft and ...charity towards all, and malice towards none--musically speaking.
