Howdy Folks Would like to do an addendum to prior mailings and make sure everybody has the new website for the Second Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes which is: http://www.myspace.com/mexicolapazglobalrainbowg That website has been set-up primarily due to the fact that this Gathering urgently needs to start passing the Magic Hat to cover our costs, which to date have been largely born by the focalizer and friends here in La Paz, Baja California Sur - Mexico. A simple Google, Yahoo or whatever, search of the Gathering name will show the worldwide input in support of the Gathering. Our email account set up at the beginning of May has had over 4,000 incoming communications. Since we set up the first website about three weeks ago we have had over 2,000 hits between the website proper and the streaming additional page provided by welcomehere.org (Thanks folks): http://welcomehere.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1215275361/9#9 We have secured a 4,000 acre site and the use of the adjoining 4,000 acres as well. We have a 400 acre Seed Camp site closer to the highway and still on the paved road (the last 26 kilometers on the road to the Gathering are gravel and dirt). We have a good early crew coming for prep work, which will likely be focalized largely by: www.nomadsunited.com (check the Mexico section of that site), but folks from a number of countries plan on arriving early to help as well. We have gathered a number of medical folks; doctors, nurses, holistic therapists, etc. to seed C.A.L.M. /M.A.S.H. efforts. Our water supply needs have been arranged on various levels; from the springs up in the mountains on the properties, via the contribution of a 2,000 gallon tank, truck to haul it on and a farmers deep well source of good pure water for filling & refills and should the event attract more than those will cover we will have additional Tank Trucks on standby which would also fill at our deep well source. Additionally many folks may chose to put deposits on 5 gallon bottles and bring in water from filtered and reverse osmosis sources of water in town. Of course we've covered massive mailings, postings to all known Rainbow and other group pages and websites, publishing extensively in the alternative media worldwide, and had a lot of good local press and online news groups publishing in support of it. Those, of course, resulting in many folks worldwide copying and forwarding the information on to their mailings lists and networks as well. Millions globally have seen the invitation by now. So know that we have done everything possible to make this a great Gathering and folks from around the world will be here to welcome each other Home. Please contribute as generously as possible to the PayPal Magic Hat which you can access on the MySpace website at the top of this update. Your support is gratefully appreciated. This is an open and totally non-commercial event with no monetary sales of goods or services. Barter and Trade are acceptable and encouraged. It is a-political & a-religious and all decisions are made in Councils of all those participating who desire to have their voices heard. The General Consensus of the Councils on whatever decisions are made are the guidelines for all to respect. Traditional Consensus decision reached over the years on whom and what we are, how Gatherings work, etc. can be found by logging onto the Rainbow website: www.welcomehere.org and particularly going to the Rainbow Guide segment and downloading the Mini Manual supplement. This provides a good general outline that most Rainbow Gatherings utilize to formulate the event. There are no fees, admissions or membership requirements past the respecting of the land, the people attending, the people and communities around us and each in our own ways working toward fulfilling the Prophecies of the Warriors of the Rainbow: “When the Mother Earth is sick and the animals dying there will come a Tribe of Peoples from all Cultures who believe in deeds, not words, and they will restore the Mother Earth to her former beauty. This Tribe will be called The Warriors of the Rainbow.” In the interest of protecting the Mother Earth you are encouraged to participate in helping keep the land in its natural state by treading lightly upon it. Please respect everyone's right to use the land in a peaceful manner and help spread the love of nature in thoughtful and meaningful ways. The Spirit of who we are as a human tribe in harmony is the ultimate validation of our common creed. We are the Rainbow Nation and our collective beauty shines even in the darkest of times, and it is the gift of peace that we bring to share with the world. Let it shine! Guidelines and Information: Harm no living thing; use only down dead wood, cut no living trees or plants. Do not litter and if you see litter pick it up for deposit in the appropriate place. Separate trash for recycling and deposit at collection sites. Put any vegetable matter in compost pits. Protect our water! Use no soap within 50' of streams. Join with us at noon of November 16th for a one hour Silence for World Peace and the Healing of the Mother Earth. We encourage all those who cannot attend the Gathering to maintain that silence where and with whomever they are with at the moment. Note that the time is based on U.S. Mountain Time. Donate to the Magic Hat which is our means of covering all costs of the Gathering, insuring that sufficient supplies come in to attend to all the needs of the people. The Magic Hat is passed at all Councils and meal circles each day. Make sure to bring your intended contribution to those collection points. Things to Bring: Camping Equipment Sleeping Bags / Blankets Rain Gear / Tarps (Think large for shade) Candles, incense, chimes, drums and acoustic instruments to share the fun things Kitchen Equipment for Community Kitchens (think large sizes of everything) Small hand tools Swimming outfits / tubes Personal first-aid kit Sun screen / Lip Balm Water filter / Containers Broad brimmed hats are appropriate for this desert country The Rainbow Family/Warriors of the Rainbow is not for anyone to control as it is freedom in raw form. The Consensus of the General Rainbow Council of all those attending is the sole decision making body. Rainbow General Councils since their inception have reached strong consensuses that nobody is the leader and no group outside of the whole of all peoples attending may claim authority over anybody or anything related to the Gatherings, Events or Projects done in the name of all people who are valid members of the Rainbow Tribes and by extension the Global Network of all Rainbow Peoples. Ignore any Rumors of Cancellation or Leadership! Spread the word and spread the peace! Remember that the Prophecy of the Warriors of the Rainbow is the foundation and guiding principle of what we now call The Rainbow Family, the Rainbow Tribes, the Warriors of the Rainbow and a myriad of events and projects which now occur around the world under many Rainbow names. From the founding of Rainbow, in its’ now many forms, in a Tipi, in Councils under a tree and in an open field at the Vortex Gathering in 1970, where Greenpeace was also founded, we have come a very long way by following the concepts set forth here. We are now Global in scope and often called the worlds’ biggest disorganization. Our projects worldwide encompass a myriad of projects which seek to alleviate many problems facing humanity and all species. Rainbow Activism is well documented and has dealt well with every challenge which it has faced, for those efforts come from the hearts, minds, soul, spirit and the hands of the people involved in each aspect. You are all Welcomed Home to the Second Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes in Baja California Sur, Mexico. Bring you workshops, presentations of any projects that you are engaged with which would foster the accomplishment of the Prophecy of the Warriors of the Rainbow. Bring your music (live acoustic), dance, theater and all good fun things to share in this Celebration of Life. We are all Volunteers and your participation insures that you are an accepted part of the whole. CONTACT: rainbow_gathering@yahoo.com for more information and to add yourself to the primary Gathering mailing list. P.S. Youtube.com has many videos of Gatherings which can be accessed by searching: Rainbow gatherings: http://youtube.com/results?search_query=rainbow+gatherings&search_type= There are also a couple of good presentations via a search for Warriors of the Rainbow: http://www.youtube. com/watch? v=utBkbJIYMy8 Facebook.com is the host for the page: Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes and anybody wishing to be actively involved with the creation and furthering of this event should join that site: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=16127417116 www.welcomehere.org the best all around Rainbow website and new comers would be well advised to learn what they can of Rainbow from there in order to make the Gathering a smoother flowing event with everybody informed of the basics. Second Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes Progress Report: As we continue our efforts they begin to bare fruit. We are still not settled on which site to choose as that will be next months Scouting Council and General Council following that for a final decision. That said, there are agreements being reached that a few of the following projects should be part of the Gathering proper: (1): The opening days November 1st & 2nd are the traditional Day of the Dead Ceremonies/Celebrations here in Mexico, days to remember and give honor to those who have passed before us. It is proposed that we inaugurate the Second Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes with our offerings of thanks to all those who have gone before us in the efforts to Heal the Mother Earth and further World Peace. Of course that list is long and it will take everybody coming to the Gathering to list and create some kind of thanks offering to those who are seen, locally, continentally and globally as worthy of our respect. Traditionally shrines are created so that those who give honor to the particular person can spend whatever time paying respect and offer whatever in memory of the dead. Each person or group into creating such a shrine would be responsible to make it well and make sure folks know who the person was and what he or she did that is worthy of respect. It is further proposed the in the event that if such person was a musician there should be a stage (acoustic) where whoever wishes to play and sing those persons songs may do so. John Lennon, Jerry Garcia, Janis Joplin and a whole slew of others come immediately to mind, but there are no specific ones which people have committed to volunteering for and creating at this moment. (2): High Noon of the Nov. 16th will be the time and day of the Circle of Silence for the Healing of the Mother Earth and bringing Peace to all peoples and places. For those who cannot come to the Gathering proper we request that folks around the world do their own Silence/Silence Circles and meditating for that. Either at the same time as at the Gathering here (12 noon U.S. Rocky Mountain Time) or perhaps at High Noon in each place that people are doing it so that it would work as a Rolling Circle of Silence that goes around the world all day long as it happens in each different time zone. (3): The Sacred Tipi Tour has the Gathering down on their Calendar of Events and they will be at the Gathering from the 1st-30th . They will be having Ceremonies and workshops/teaching circles during that time, but we have not gotten their intended schedule of events as yet: http://www.soulconnection.net/downloads/tipi.pdf (4): There is a tree planting project that will be transporting trees from a heritage seed stock farm project in La Ribera to the site of where we held the last Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes, and which is still one of the proposed sites for this Gathering. Contact Rahmon at rahmoniturbe@hotmail.com for information and any offers to volunteer. (5): Of course U.S. citizens, and those who would choose to join them, celebrate Thanksgiving and one would assume that for those from there, but able to be down here, there will be an event for that. (6): All of the usual projects at Gatherings: CALM, Shanti Sena, etc. always happen at Gatherings and volunteers need to come together for those standard needs of the Gathering. Any Kitchen Bus(s) out there planning on coming down should let us know and we can include those in updates as they evolve. Should add that once you’re south of the U.S. border that gas prices goes back down (around $2.75 a gallon here right now), as do most things here in Mexico, though there is less and less of a difference as time goes by. Actually imported stuff is usually a bit more (but sometimes cheaper, which I can’t figure what with the added cost of transport, etc.) so bring those things with you that are from home if you want to make sure you have them. Or you are willing to pay a bit more for here and take the chance of availability. La Paz will be the base area for obtaining supplies. There is almost anything you would want here and some stores will special order any request that you have, of course giving them a lead-time for stocking your requested item(s). For a good general overview of La Paz and the County (Municipio) folks can go to the official County website: www.vivalapaz.com and familiarize yourselves with a bit of the area and what is available. It’s a bit commercial of a website since it was designed for attracting tourists and such, but it is informative on many levels and has some great photos. The Howdy Folks (Invitation) is now out around the world and of course many of those receiving that do decide to forward, post and publish information on the Gathering and they are doing their thing. Literally thousands of environmental and Peace groups/networks worldwide have been invited already and more will be as things progress. It will also soon be published throughout many alternative media sources on-line as well, of course inviting everybody to share it as they will. So a lot has already been accomplished in the past few weeks since the initial Howdy Folks (Invitation) went out and we have been getting many responses from folks who are planning on coming from the 4 directions. Happy Rainbow Trails and each recipient of this is more than welcomed to further the Howdy Folks and updates throughout your networks. Second Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes Focalizer Rainbow Hawk rainbow_gathering@yahoo.com Update # 2 for the: Second Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes November 1st-30th 2008 Things continue to progress and a simple search of Google or Yahoo for: Second Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes will show that this Gathering is now a worldwide happening in the making, with over 80% of the first ten pages of the search being posted by a myriad of groups/networks/alternative media with the Invitation. Of course there are also many listings on the pages following the first ten (hundreds of them). We have pretty much covered the basic initial English and Spanish postings throughout this hemisphere and some beyond that. Of course much more work needs doing for those regions and too announce the Gathering to the rest of the world, i.e. translations, etc. Besides what we are doing from here, we know that many people/groups/networks/alternative media, and what have you, are further forwarding/posting/publishing the Howdy Folks/Invitation on to wherever they think it should go. Hopefully that is also true for all folks receiving this and all updates, as well as the Invitation itself. Continually more folks and groups are confirming their intended attendance and that they are networking in their friends, families and associated groups. At this point we can safely assume that well over a million people have had the opportunity to read the Howdy Folks/Invitation and to pass it along if they so choose to do so. This has all happened within this past few weeks and we still have 5 months& to continue spreading the word. By then we hope to have reached at least a sizable portion of the worlds populous. Please note that throughout the Invitation folks are directed to www.welcomehere.org and other Rainbow oriented web accesses for information so that everybody knows as much as they can about what Gatherings are and have been, as well as how they work (or, more properly, how we work together to make them happen). Of course folks who have been to Gatherings before already have that knowledge to one degree or another, but this Gathering is inviting a myriad of active groups and networks which are contributing towards the Healing of the Mother Earth (via countless alternative efforts and projects) and fostering World Peace, many who have never attended a Gathering before and some who have had no knowledge of them at all until now. Although this effort of course provides a big focus on more traditional Rainbow networks, it goes far beyond those to include all Tribes and Cultures worldwide. It is thus the intent of the Second Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes to bring together as many folks as possible from across the entire spectrum, planet wide. It also requests that all who are actively involved in real and tangible efforts bring those to share in workshops, Councils and events at this Gathering. It has been suggested that we might also include organizing an Alternative Festival/Fair of sorts in the city of La Paz in conjunction with the Gathering proper, though that would include sales of products produced by the people themselves, i.e. Art, Crafts, Film, Music, Dance, Theater, Workshops & Teach-ins, Alternative Energy, Organic Gardening/Farming, Holistic Medicine, Alternative Media and a myriad of subjects which make up the whole of the Alternative Movements worldwide. Since that would be set up as a separate entity from the Gathering proper (not to mention being miles away and in town) it would not infringe upon the non-commercial nature of all Rainbow efforts, but rather enhance the month long event as it would allow folks to generate some funds outside of the Gathering proper to help offset their expenses to get to/from, and to create, the Gathering itself. Sort of like in the old days when Gatherings happened at the same time and in the same area as Grateful Dead and other shows which many Rainbow folks attended while they were in the region and which never infringed upon the Gathering itself. Rather enhancing folks experiences during that time period. With the Second Global being a month in duration such an event happening in the same time frame would provide time away from the event proper and in such time folks would get to know far more about the local culture and get to know and encourage local folks to come out to the Gathering itself and experience the Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes as well. The two events would essentially be matched, reflecting the world as we would love to see it at the Gathering, yet working in the real world outside of the Gathering, a sharing of the Rainbow Energy, with folks who would not otherwise attend a Gathering due to their personal views and moral concepts (largely involving nudity which is common at clothing optional events). Feedback on this proposed idea is more than welcomed, however such feedback should relate to creating the event in conjunction with the Gathering time period. It would not be a “Rainbow Gathering” per se and thus any consensus’ regarding Gatherings would not necessarily apply (though a lot of the concepts are indeed mutually compatible) Focalizer for the Second Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes: Photobucket Rainbow Hawk rainbow_gathering@yahoo.com

Rainbow Family Magic Hat Song Embed: Web Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-lq20pj4JI&feature=related If Folks can please help the
Magic hat Early!!! Second Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes: Answers to common questions 1. Gathering housing consists of camping, or vehicle campers, or sleeping in yurts, tipis, motor homes, or improvised shelters. To avoid any misunderstanding though - this means that you bring your own sleeping/private space structures. There are sometimes spaces in larger community oriented shelters for sleeping. Of course one may chose to simply sleep under the stars in your own sleeping gear. The weather here in November is usually excellent, though sometimes can get a bit windy. Overly hot or cool weather is very rare in that month, but be prepared if needed. 2. The Magic Hat provides for community meals, at least one a day, as well as some hot and cold drinks. The quality and quantity of food/drink, and the timeliness & frequency of meals will depend on contributions to the Magic Hat which is passed at meal & Council Circles (so bring your intended donations to those), and the skills, efforts and number of volunteers for community kitchens.. 3. The cooking will be done partly on gas stoves in mobile home units, camp stoves as well as on open fire sources which use dead and down cactus or charcoal as fuel. For the latter bring large grills and/or grate type cooking surfaces used for barbeque type cooking. Metal tripods for hanging kettles (and the kettle themselves) are also good to bring for open fire/coals cooking. Earthen or 55 food grade gallon drums for ovens are often utilized. 4. We, of course, encourage Rainbow Kitchen Buses to come and may have some of those which have cooking pots and kettles as well as cooking utensils. However we also encourage people to secure those things as parts of you camping gear to insure their presence for the needs at hand. People are expected to bring their own personal plates, bowls, cups and cutlery though, and to take responsibility for keeping the same clean. Community wash stations, with chlorine rinse solution, are standard to eliminate any chances of bacterial infection problems which may be present. 5. There is fairly ample firewood for central community fires currently on site. Additional firewood is available if people are prepared to volunteer manpower/petrol/ vehicles to go get it, and is free from the local natural sources on site (the site is 4,000 acres an and adjacent property of the same size (take only dead and down sources of fire fuel). Only Community fires are allowed, both for fire safety and to keep smoke to a minimum. 6. Everybody is free to come and go as they wish. It is not a "closed camp" and there is no "expectation" that you have to be on site all the time. It is also perfectly fine to bring in your own provisions and to personally share any surplus that you may wish too. Some Community meals may well be Pot Luck affairs with everybody bringing their contributions to share. We would respectfully ask that if you know that you are frequently going to be traveling on and off site, that you leave your vehicle on the outer edges of parking areas. Also, while your vehicle is welcome at any time during the Gathering in the car parking areas, it may well not be allowed in the vehicle camping areas after dark for the safety and peaceful sleep of people. 7. We hope that your children will find it easy to make friends. There are usually lots of children attending with their parents who also normally create a Kid Village with all necessities and lots of entertaining things to do for children of all ages. There is usually plenty going on. 8. Washing facilities. Since we will be on the sea and swimming is the norm, at most required is rinse off facilities that are easy enough to construct with 55 gallon drums and hoses, as well as simple 5 gallon buckets with dipping items. We do encourage people to bring solar shower units to share and build stalls for those. Hand washing facilities are absolutely essential in all kitchen and medical areas. Some people heat a pan of water and then have a quick strip wash. Eco-friendly washing up liquids must be used and will be provided in part by the Magic Hat and in part by those bringing in supplies meant to donate for that purpose. Please bring your own soap, towel and toothbrush! Be respectful and don't smoke in enclosed/communal spaces, around kids or near people who are eating. Other than that there are no rules except to enjoy yourself and/or partake in interesting and/or spiritually uplifting experiences. Leave pets at home whenever possible and when not each person with a pet must be responsible for their behavior and to keep them out of kitchen, medical areas and peoples personal food supplies (bring adequate food for your pets and some to share with others as well), as well as out of fights or aggressive behavior. No publicly drinking alcohol during daylight hours and private drinking in your camp needs to be kept to a social level. Drunken behavior will not be tolerated and is justifiable reason to bar people’s presence from the Gathering. Take care of your children directly when they are not in Kid Village with adequate volunteer supervision (every parent should volunteer time there, as should entertainers). Anything that you bring into the Gathering and not consumed there, or in the case of paper products burned, is your garbage and should leave with you for proper disposal, though we also hope to have a substantial amount of recycling of metals, plastics and reusable goods. Make sure you give generously to the Magic Hat which is the only fund to cover all Gathering related expenses as there is no admission, or membership fees, nor sales of anything on site. Trade of things you make, grow and neat hand or natural made things acquired in your travels are normal at trading circles, or in your camp proper. Depending upon Council decisions, we may have a market day, as is used in some international Gatherings, each week for sales of goods (only goods we ourselves produce), though such would be away from the heart of the Gathering proper, perhaps in the Motor Homes Village or a parking, or beach, area away from the event itself. Attend Morning Councils – Meal Circles frequently as those are usually where folks make announcements of workshops, volunteer needs for the Gathering, ceremonies folks would like to do, projects are proposed and volunteers for them found, etc. Information booths or bulletin boards may also be used to make such announcements. Wear a hat in the sun. No hunting of wild or domestic animals. Fishing from shore, or while snorkeling, is permitted without license, but any fishing from boats requires the proper permits and following the rules of SEMARNAT for protections of species. Each Community Kitchen will determine what they will, or will not, prepare and any offerings from those kitchens to the main Meal Circles must advise people of their contents since many folks are vegetarians, or may have food allergies (or simply preferences). Any gathering of natural herbs and food sources must be done in a very conscientious way and under the advice of local experts in that field. We would encourage workshops and field trips on this topic. Preserving the natural environment is a primary purpose for this Gathering and the site must be respected that way. Drink plenty of fluids and though the weather is normally quite pleasant in November beverages with electrolytes are advisable. Sign in and out of the Welcome Center and leave a means of contact for future invitations to events and projects. Volunteer for any jobs that need doing and rather than complain about anything, when you see a problem that needs fixing do it and if it requires more help ask for volunteers. At Councils it is common to use a Talking Stick, or other object (feathers are often used) and as it passes around the circle each person holding that object has the right to speak their heart and announce workshops or events, or whatever. Respect the talking stick or object. If the Council deems it is being misused people will generally Om-m-m in unison as their statement that the speaker should pass the speakers’ implement along. Respect the freedom and the rights of others for in freedom that is each of our responsibility; believe in boundaries that may infringe upon the rights of others and respect them. Leave the Gathering promptly by the 1st of December if you are not committed to cleaning up and restoring the site, or involved with ongoing projects which are planned for that location. Ongoing community efforts will be discussed during the Gathering and those who would like to be part(s) may sign up for them, but they will not be a free ride and all who remain must be involved in creating real projects, including covering the costs involved with them. Howdy Folks (Update 3) We do have the site for the Second Global Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes secured and those who wish to come ahead of time for Scout and Set-up of the Gathering site (4,000 acres) needs are encouraged to come down after the first week of Oct. since that is pretty much always the last week of any hurricane season storms, though for the brave of heart earlier is good too (we often don’t have major storms at all, averaging one every seven years) who may want to chance it we can always at least scout the area for the best places to put in: Kitchens, Main Council Fire/ Tipi Circle and various sites appropriate for various Community Fire Circles; Parking areas and Bus/Motor home Village; Welcome Center; Kid Village; C.A.L.M. (Center for Alternative Living Medicine) location(s); Slit-Trench locations for bathroom needs; areas to install solar hot water showers to be focalized by Darrick and which will need materials, as well as the same for kitchens and C.A.L.M. needs…….. No doubt the miles/kilometers of beachfront will be major focus areas for camping, though it would likely be best for most of the center of the Gathering to be further away from the coastal road that runs along the beach edge (a couple-few hundred yards/meters from the shore) of the property, which gets very little traffic other than local fishermen and farm/ranch folks. We could have camps strung out from the springs up in the canyons all the way to the beach (a few miles/kilometers), perhaps having Tipi Village/Main Council Circle located somewhere in between. This site, other than the dirt road running though it, is raw Mother Nature. Trails that will leave minimal environmental impacts would have to be marked out thoughtfully to any chosen community camp locations. There are several Mesas on site, as well as caves, whose areas may be good for various site needs and those are on higher ground away from arroyos/dry-wash areas of the property. We don’t expect rains during the Gathering, or the Arroyos to flood during it, but one never really knows with the weather until it happens. The site is backed by the Sierra Gigantes (Giant Mountains) which are sheer cliff walls rising thousands of feet, with some canyon access points (where the springs are), that also have a large/long ridgeline that have what appear to be cathedrals carved into it by the winds and water, thus the locals name for it: The Cathedrals. Any possible rains in those mountains mean that we have to consider that the arroyos could get significant amounts of water flowing through them. Again not likely to have rains in November, but of course a possibility which needs to be seriously considered. Besides the springs as water sources we will also have a big (2,000 gallon) water storage tank and truck to haul it on, as well as a deep well water source for refilling it as often as needed. Depending upon the number of folks showing up we may well need additional water from off-site and will have water tanker trucks on stand-by for that need, which would also use our deep well source for filling. Many folks may also wish to put deposits on (or bring with them) 5 gallon water bottles that they can carry in with them and refill at filtered and reverse osmosis water sources in town. All are readily available. The local environmental group, ConcienciaMexico A.C. has volunteered to try to set up buses, or van buses, for regular trips to and from the Gathering site from a central location in La Paz for those arriving by air and locals who may not have, or wish to use, their own vehicles. Of course we will also utilize the standard Rainbow Shuttles done by volunteer vehicles which also commonly do supply runs and other off-site needs. Most, if not all, locals living out that way would in all likelihood offer rides to folks as well. They are great neighbors to have for a Gathering. The following is a discourse on the filming /recording of music and other aspects of the Gathering and which should be shared with all those coming who would be parts of it. From: Shawn Syre .. Subject: Hello Brother, Shining Sun here To: rainbow_gathering@yahoo.com Date: Friday, July 11, 2008, 2:26 AM Greetings, My father and I recently attended the Gathering in Wyoming and were so moved and healed by the music that we are coming to the world gathering to film a documentary and record the music for the world. Our mission is to offer the music to everyone with a belly button and EARS! Because music is the language of the soul I know that seeds of light will be planted and welcome all those that hear it to become one with the family. I was named "Shining Sun" at the gathering and with that and all the roads and experiences I've had this is my journey. I feel like a messenger and my ability to plant seeds of light in society will help make this vision come into reality. We have a small Howdy Shawn We'd love to see your project manifest, though would like an agreement that footage and recordings, both raw (before you and your dad leave the Gathering) and finished, when that is done, be given to the focalizers of the Gathering who have put enormous energy and considerable resources into making it happen. Such would be used for future Gatherings needs and to share with all those who attend, particularly those who appear in your production, and who request it. Your Rainbow name reminds me of Bob Marley’s song Sun is shining, which he composed after I shared the Prophecies of the Warriors of the Rainbow with him ("Want you to know that I'm a Rainbow too, to the rescue here I am"). My name is Rainbow Hawk, which my grandmother, who was Seneca/Iroquois, gave me and shared the Whirling Rainbow Prophecy with me a quarter of a century before the first Rainbow Councils. That Prophecy and others of the Warriors of the Rainbow (which you should search on Youtube if you do not already know it) are the foundation of our Gatherings and all that has manifested as Rainbow that we all know today. I shared those with most of those who sat in the first Rainbow Councils (as well as Greenpeaces'). So it should be said that for your film and recording that should be entered as parts of them. Do let me know how your plans are progressing and once firm we can include that information in updates to the Gathering information. Walk in Peace Rainbow Hawk Dear Rainbow Hawk, Thank you. We understand the nature of this production being for all, especially for those that help facilitate the gathering and those that are on the film and in the music. We will completely honor your requests as it can only help bring this project into completion. I'm devoted to bring this to the world through alternative Medias like the internet, PBS, and private radio stations. We will show you and the appropriate people the project during the several stages towards the final cut. We want this to represent the truth and nature of the family so any input would greatly help. I know that what we will witness is going to be magical! I listened to the Marley song and loved it. It all makes perfect sense. It's funny.... my dad, Ken, saw a hawk circling above the drum circle on the 4th in the main meadow. He saw it circle in a spiral up until it vanished / ascended. It was a Rainbow Hawk. I told him about you and wanted me to give you his email. ken.syre3@gmail.com . We'll keep you updated and if there is anyone else that you want us to keep informed just let us know. Love, Shawn !. Intention: Our intention shall be to express the fact that "The truth shall set you free" This will ground the music to represent ultimate Freedom of will and expression. 2. Purpose: Our purpose shall be to "Let thy will be done" by expression and emotion in the music that influences only Love and eliminates polarity and duality in sounds of music. This will allow a pathway of creative action and expression on the part of the listener. 3. Venue: The World Gathering of the Rainbow Family at Baja Peninsula, Mexico. This venue will unify the people’s hearts and minds to a single understanding based on Loving our fellow man and Healing the Earth. 4. Artists: The expression of various groups of people having their own individual oneness for the expression of music. 5. Audience: The Audience is "The World" via PBS and other conscious networks. This music will resonate with the audience's hearts and souls to unit us as one. Love and Light, Ken Syre Map: Photobucket

I am back in central Mexico from the gathering which was truly the most amazing gathering of my life, it was totally worth it despite the challenges in the beginning. It is still going on until the end of the month and then most people are headed south...thank you to all who made it out here and to all the ones that made this happen.
Namaste!

I am in La Paz and it was crazy finding the gathering not to mention dangerous, and the site for a long time didnt have direction. When you come to La Paz ask to be taken to el Malecon and ask for RAibow, make sure you get plenty of water and shade items like tarps. If you hitch, go North on the Highway past the Pemex station, towards Punta Coyote. You will see the three stacked stones. But dont even try to walk all the way into the beach, you would have to walk for hours in the desert, rather wait for a ride. More info should be on facebook by now. It takes an hour to get out there from la Paz.
Blessing to you on your journey! Hope you can join us, its only now beginning!
