Mezcla Experience started in 2001 as an idea of 3 elementary school students interested in playing Blues music. They originally called themselves The Little Brown Blues Band to recognize their Chicano, Ecuadorian, and Filipino heritages. The name Mezcla Experience came about as the group started learning Rancheras and older Rock n Roll music.
The group has evolved into a flexible group that plays traditional Rancheras, Oldies, Hard Rock, and Latin Rock with their own unique flavor. The band is currently expanding to include new members and styles.
The group is a family band and as more family teens are becoming involved the group is expanding music styles to include Spanish/Mexican Rock, Hip-Hop, Blues, and writing original songs that will include the various influences of all of the members.
Mezcla Experience has performed for a great deal of community fundraisers and events gaining experience in their musicality. At a young age many of the performers are already well prepared to work a show and involve their audience.
Mezcla Experience has had the honor to open for such outstanding Albuquerque performers such as Wagogo, The Rudy Boy Experiment, Los Jaraneros, Mezcla Latina, and Three-Quarter Brown in a variety of Albuquerques venues.
The original group consisted of Aurea Cardiel, age 15, accordionist, Jaime Espinoza-Floril, age 17, drummer, Juan Cardiel, age 16, guitarist, and Enrique Cardiel, age 40, as the bassist. The group has added Miranda Duran, age 14, rythm guitar and Altagracia "Cece" Thrasher, age 16, who performs with us on vocals. Silents is interested in working with the band, and Juan will still perform on occasion. We are looking for a new drummer!
The group is done with their first recording with MiDoJo Studios. This allows the young group to reach a wider audience. They are interested in working on a regular basis and opening for more of Albuquerque's great musical groups who support youth music. The group will be working on developing all original sets and will be out of circulation briefly.
PEACE!!!
