....Where to start? I've been studying music for 15 years, and have been doing studio production for 7. I can play fretless bass, guitar, keys, clarinet, bass clarinet, flute, didgeridoo, scratch on turntables, djembe, sitar, and any other instrument that you'll let me get my hands on. I started out by living in a mic booth for two years when I first came to SF, with nothing but the clothes on my back and a sitar. Things have changed a lot since then. Thanks to a lot of hard work and good fortune I ended up apprenticing at a studio for two years until I could learn what I needed to learn and save the cash to start my own studio. Five years later I have a studio of my own, Sevyn Layerz Deep Studioz (www.sevynlayerzdeep.com), and I'm now about to drop my second album "Secrets of the Stingray Style". God willing, it'll only get better! I also do live sound, to pay the bills, and have worked for Poleng Lounge (a.k.a. Old Storyville), Amoeba Records, Biscuits and Blues, Mighty, The Shattuck Downlow, The Legion of Honor, and the De Young Museum. I've either recorded or done live sound for Bicasso (of Living Legends), Myka Nyne (Freestyle Fellowship), Mad Lib, Scratch from the Roots, Supernatural, Mr. Lif and Akrobatik (The Preceptionists), Casual (Heiroglyphics), Kim Hill (formerly of Black Eyed Peas), M.E.D., Boac (Earthlings), J Boogie's Dubtronic Science, Jern Eye (Lunar Heights), Brand Nubian, Nicolay (Forign Exchange, Little Brother), Chromeo, King Britt, Marcus Shelby and Haul and Mason, just to name a few.
