Melbourne based indie-pop singer and young mum Mezz Coleman captivates audiences around Melbourne with her personal lyrics, catchy melodies and passionate vocal performances. Her music studies at the Victorian College of the Arts (Jazz Improvisation) combined with her love of great popular musicians such as The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Claire Bowditch, Katie Noonan, Eva Cassidy, Sarah Vaughan and Ben Folds have influenced Mezz's approach to music, and she improvises freely through these different styles, while remaining accessable to all ears.___
Mezz Coleman and her band of brothers (they actually are her brothers) have been playing their tasteful blend of indie-pop, jazz and soul at venues such as Gertrude's Brown Couch, Paris Cat, Bar 303, Don’t Tell Tom Bar, The Rob Roy Hotel, The Edinburgh Castle and Revolver Upstairs. Always willing to lend a hand to a great cause, Mezz appeared at the Salvation Army's “Stop the Traffik” human trafficking awareness campaign and their Social Justice Campaign at a public gig at Federation Square. She was also thrilled to be part of UNOH's (Urban neighbours of Hope) "Following Fire" and The Salvation Army's "Young Courage" CD's - two social justice themed compilations, featuring many international artists.___
Mezz has leant her support and been supported by many fabulous artist such as Ainslie Wills, Georgia Fields and the Freeways, Rob Longstaff, Nyssa Bradsworth Band, Charles Baby, Capatain Smash and the Shady Stash, Lydia Phillips, Rosaline Yuen, Frankie Wants Out, Gabi Smith, Simone Gill, Nina Benvenuti and Peter Carr. She has also had the opportunity of working as a backing vocalist with various high profile acts as a member of the Melbourne Gospel Choir and the John Foreman Carols by Candelight Band..............................................................................................................

Mezz’s debut EP “My Little World” is a collection of songs written about relationships, community and faith. She co-produced the EP with her older brother John Carr (yes, he is in her band, what a multi-talented thing!) and released the CD with First birth Records. The independent release features Mezz’s band, plus some fabulous guitar playing by Jon Skovron. The CD was launched late 2007 to a capacity crowd at one of Melbourne's music performance "institutions," 303 in Northcote.___
In between changing nappies and trips to the playground, Mezz is writing more material, promoting "My Little World" and performing at a music venue near you!! Stay tuned!...........................................................................................
"It's kinda simple. Mezz has a fresh melodic feel to her songs, and when treated with her soulful vocal-just feels good!" (Ben Brazil-Jellyfish Music)

So lovely to meet you Mezz, you were fantastic! I overheard a beautiful quote from someone on a loungy second hand sofa at Beav's and had to share it with you. They described your music like this; "It's like you can hear her (being you) smiling when she sings" =)
