MGAM Inc has booked artists into the Kennedy Center in Washington DC; Merkin Hall and Lincoln Center in New York; with the Oregon Bach Festival; the Mostly Mozart Festival; the Portland Symphony in Maine, the Boston Symphony and the Boston Modern Orchestra Project in Boston, the Riverside Symphony in New York, the Utica Symphony in New York, the Bay-Atlantic Symphony in New Jersey; the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, Music in the Mountains, the Cape & Island Festival, the Myra Hess Series in Chicago, the Philips Gallery in Washington DC, the Barge Concerts in New York and countless others. We have booked artists with all the major Canadian presenters and have the distinction of being the longest running Canadian based management company.
MGAM Inc has in the past 25 years played a significant role in launching and maintaining the careers of many talented artists. Some of these include Rivka Golani, Robert Silverman Richard Raymond, Scott St. John, Jean Stilwell, Monica Whicher, Guy Few, Joseph Petric, the Amadeus Ensemble, and James Sommerville. We have done PR work for James Campbell, Shauna Rolston, Nexus, PolyGram Canada, and CBC Records. Marilyn Gilbert introduced I Musici de Montreal to Toronto in a three concert series that she produced with the generous help of Bell Canada. We conceived of and launched the Millennium organization in partnership with Scott St. John.
Marilyn Gilbert has collaborated with and advised many high-profile colleagues in Canada, the United States and Europe. Among them are: Costa Pilivachi, Charles Hamlen, Sam Sanders, Barbara Scales, Maureen Forrester, Wray Armstrong, Moira Johnson, Jeanne Baxstresser, Dean Brinton formerly of Debut Atlantic, Nicholas Dejardins (the former Executive Director of Jeunesses Musicales), Loie Fallis the Artistic Administrator of the Toronto Symphony, Giora Feidman, the Klezmatics and many more. Through solid associations with colleagues in Europe MGAM Inc has launched on-going European careers for artists.
Marilyn Gilbert is recognized as an expert in her field. Ms. Gilbert has lectured for the Canada Council; she has participated on juries for the Canada Council, the Ontario Arts Council, and FACTOR. She has been a panelist for CINARS and a presenter for CAPACOA, the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council at various industry trade shows. She has worked with women colleagues to raise awareness and respect for their major contributions to the international music industry, and has collaborated with the Canada Council, CAPACOA, and various Universities in the training of people to work as arts
administrators.
