Michael Hargan .. ...... .. .. A truly amazing talent. Glaswegian singer songwriter Michael Hargan will have you mesmerised during his live performance. Equally at home playing solo, with a band or a string quartet, no 2 shows are ever the same and his ability to turn a 3 minute song into a 15 minute improvisation is a focal point in his live show. Inspired by the spirit of bands like U2, Counting Crows, Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and The Frames, Hargan takes hold of his audience during his live shows and let's them go when he decides. .. .. Michael has been touring the UK, Ireland and New York extensively over the past year on a wave of invitations from organizations and bands who recognised his talents following the release of his impressive debut album 'Conversations between Us'. His touring has also included sold-out headline dates in Scotland, Ireland and New York, and invitations to headline shows at festivals such as the prestigious Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow and The Film Fleadh Foundation (Craic festival) in New York City. He will be playing full band shows at Festivals during the summer including a main stage spot at The Big In Falkirk Festival in Front of an estimated 100,000 people .. .. In his songs Michael emanates a mixture of melancholy, anger and hope. During his live performance his strong compelling voice draws you in, with emotional and empiric lyrics keeping you there right to the end. An energetic and intense performer who wears his heart on his sleeve. .. .. A list of events, venues and bands Michael has performed with over the year can be found on this page. .. .. QUOTES .. .. An Exciting talent with a fine voice that comes across well in his strong and emotive songs Classic Rock Society .. .. What makes him stand out is powerful and strong vocals that growl and whisper in all the right places, and an air of confidence to his music that suggests he probably doesn't waste all his time feeling sorry for himself like the rest of those pesky acoustic guitar playing singer songwriters." The overall standard of songwriting puts Michael Hargan right up there with the nation's favorites Rock N Roll Lies .. .. Overall this is a well put together package and if you appreciate good singer/songwriters like David Gray and Damien Rice, this is a CD you'd want in your collection Scot-Rock (8out of 10) .. .. "With slightly more ferocity than Rice, Hargan's rich and warm vocals often lend themselves to comparisons with Tom McRae, but although he sings with soul and emotion in his voice, he thankfully never sounds quite as miserable as McRae."
