People-watching. Talking to strangers. Rapier wit and intelligence... also known as coffee and conversation Linda's/Ram's Horn-style. Writing. Listening. Reading everything possible. Playing with the dog. Searching for new films that can be added to the ever-expanding movie quote list. Making new friends, experiencing life with old ones.
Music
Tom Petty, Bon Jovi are by far the best. Peter Frampton's a guitar god (Do you feel like we do?) Any classic rock. And 80s. Can't argue with the 90s. Hey, pretty much everything.
Movies
Braveheart. When Harry Met Sally. Old School. Space Balls. Back to the Future Trilogy.
Television
ESPN, CNN and local news stations are usually on in the background. Heroes, Smallville - the story-writing is captivating. Family Guy. Law and Order, the original version. Too bad they cancelled West Wing.
Books
Too many on the shelf to count... Currently reading The Bible, History of the Freemasons, and History of St. Clair Shores. Recently finished: "The Case for Faith" by Lee Strobel, which is a journalist's personal investigation of the evidence for Jesus.
Heroes
Lucky Seven: My parents, as cliche as it may be. Others include high school and college newspaper mentors, Linda Bejma and Jane Briggs-Bunting. In the writing world: Free Press columnist and sportswriter Mitch Albom and longtime friend Kari, who can trump most when it comes to poetry or prose. And my wife, for putting up with me and being able to continue being the light of my life.

About me:
Simply: Newspapering. Coffee and conversation. Getting as much out of each day as I can, pondering the possibilities and living the realities. Grew up in the suburbs of Detroit; traded in lakes for corn fields and became a Hoosier in 2004, moving to the southside of Indianapolis to work for a small daily newspaper. Now working for a legal newspaper that comes out twice a month - no more chasing tornados, just talking law with attorneys and judges all day.
A graduate of the Greenwood Police Dept's Citizens Police Academy in November 2006.
Been a Type 1 diabetic since age 5. Insulin-pumping since May 2001, currently on the Deltec Cozmo. Married in September 2005, and my beautiful wife Suzi and I bought our first house in Greenwood! We may be Hoosiers by residence, but loyalties lie into Detroit.
..
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone that has a good story to tell.... Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Bogart. Al Pacino.
Or, if I could meet someone and influence history: George H.W., in the hour before he and Barbara decided to do the deed leading to G.W., so that I could kick him in the head.
Happy Birthday, little bro. how Dare they have giant parties this evening, with everyone eating and drinking and watching Tv, instead of watching and honoring you. Its crazy!
